Middle School
Weekly Publication for Middle School Parents ISSUE # 17
WEEK OF DECEMBER 07 TO 11, 2009

From the Middle School Office

Dear Parents:

This Monday the Middle School will be celebrating Spirit Week. Each day has been assigned a specific theme and all
students are encouraged to dress accordingly:
• Monday – Pajama Day
• Tuesday – Crazy Hair Day
• Wednesday – Decade Day (dress up in 50’s, 60’s, 70’s etc. fashion)
• Thursday – Favorite Character day
• Friday – Free Dress Day

While we do want the students to enjoy the time out of uniform, please encourage your child to exercise sound judgment
when choosing their attire so that they arrive at school dressed appropriately (no bare midriffs, spaghetti straps, baggy
pants, etc.). If your child opts not to dress in the theme of the day, your child is expected to be in school uniform.

To top off Spirit Week, the Student Council has organized the MS Party on December 11. Permission slips will be
distributed to students through Homebase. In order to attend, your child must submit a signed permission slip and
purchase a ticket. We encourage all students to attend and are looking forward to 100% participation. The party will be a
great opportunity to spend time with friends, have some spirited fun and celebrate the end of the semester!

On Tuesday, December 15 the PE Department has organized a Sports Day. Each student has been assigned to a house –
Aklan, Baguio, Cebu, or Davao – and will have opportunities to participate in events throughout the day. All parents are
invited to attend and cheer on their child.

On Wednesday, December 16 students will be dismissed early at 12:00 noon. Please make the necessary transportation
arrangements so that your child is picked up promptly at dismissal time.
Sincerely,

Danielle Fredericks Clarissa Sayson

Middle School Spirit Week

To prepare for the upcoming sports day in Middle School we are showing our school pride
next week during spirit week. Each day, December 7 – December 11, students can show
their school spirit by dressing up for the theme of the day. The daily themes are:
• Monday - pajama day
• Tuesday - crazy hair day
• Wednesday - decade day (choose a decade and dress up as they did during that time)
• Thursday - character day (dress up as your favorite character)
• Friday is free dress day

Hope your children will show their school spirit by dressing in the theme of the day.

Please donate your glossy magazines to PCF!

WHY?
Glossy Magazines cannot be pulped and recycled like regular clean paper here in Manila so if you
don’t ensure that they’re made into something else… they just end up in a land fill.

WHAT does PCF do with them?

Parents of the school children are employed to make beads out of them which, in turn, get made into
jewellery and bags.

HOW does this help families?

The money from the products generates income for them so that they can afford to buy food and
clothes for their children.

WHERE?
Collection boxes can be found in ES, MS and HS offices
