be awarded the LITMUS over-all championship trophy.

General Eligibility Rules
UC Students can only participate in the Cheer and Dance and LITMUS Competitions if they qualify under
the following conditions:
1. Must be currently enrolled in a short-course or undergraduate program (Ll.B. included) in the college
they are representing.
2. For old, or returning students, and transferees, they must have passed 50% or more of the total
subjects enrolled in the previous term (except for freshmen who just graduated from High School
and enrolled in UC in June or September, 2012).
3. Must not be more than 25 years old.
4. Must not have won 1

Place in the same category of previous years staging of LITMUS
Competitions.
5. Must not have won 1

nd
, or 3
rd
in any national competition that has similar nature as the contest
category being participated.
6. Must not have represented the country in any international competition that has similar nature as
the contest category being participated.
7. Must be duly endorsed by the college dean as confirmed with the deans signature in the entry
forms, submitted by the college coordinator.
8. A student can only join one category in each cluster/competition.
9. Check event mechanics for additional specific eligibilites.
Important: Entry Forms must be submitted on the following deadlines. Replacements can only be done four
working days before the competition. Copies of enrolment form from current term and final grades from
previous term must be attached in the entry forms. Failure to submit entry forms on time by the college
coordinator means no entry from the college.

Cheer and Dance Competition

1. Members of a team:
a. Each college squad must be composed of 15-20 members, with at least seven males and seven
females. All of which must be duly enrolled in their colleges as endorsed by their deans.
Participants of a team are NOT allowed to join another group.
b. Each team is allowed to have up to 5 props men, who are not part of the performing team.
c. Students should pass at least 50% of the enrolled units last trimester he or she attended.
d. Members of the UC Dance Squad are NOT allowed to join the competition but may be asked to
help or assist their respective colleges.(Members who have become scholars from SY 2012-2013
to 2013-2014)

2. Routine Requirements:
a. Routine Time
i. Time of presentation must be within a minimum of 4 minutes to a maximum of 6 minutes.
Time starts at the first organized yell, dance movement, of the start of music, whichever
comes first.
ii. Any organized/choreographed entrance and/or exit is NOT allowed. All presentations must
start and end at the performance area.
iii. Any infraction of the allotted time will cost a deduction of 10 POINTS from the teams
general average score.
b. College Yells/Cheer/Chant
i. Each presentation must include college cheer/chant which they can perform at any part
of the routine.
ii. Yells/Chant/cheer should be self-describing or pertaining to their own colleges.
iii. Yells/Chant/cheer describing or mentioning other teams are NOT allowed and will be given
10 POINTS deduction from the teams general average score.
iv. Cuss words, cursing, and/or bad language are strictly prohibited.

c. Accompaniment
i. Canned Music
1. Explicit vulgarity in music is prohibited.
2. CD format only
3. Produce 2 copies at the day of competition.
4. Assign someone in your team to play your music at the technical booth.
d. College Mascot
i. Mascot should represent college identity, theme, and motif.
ii. College mascot must appear as part of the choreography.
e. Dance
i. Dance must be reflecting a particular theme with some cheer motions.
ii. Dance routine should remain wholesome the whole time. Explicit vulgarities in dance steps
are not allowed.
iii. Dance choreography must not include gymnastic acts such as, but not limited to, tumbles,
lifts, pyramid formations and/or tosses.
f. Performance Area
i. Performance area is 12X12 meters, gymnastic mats.
ii. Stepping out from the performance area will be given 10pts deduction per person, per
occurrence.
iii. Props men are allowed to step in and out from the mats.

3. Allowed Costume and Props:
a. Costumes must be within standard of decency. Skirts must be at arms length
up to the thumb of the wearer when standing and must have thigh and dark
undershorts of the same length
b. Standard cheering props may be used but not any liquids, flammable materials, hard materials
that may destroy the mats, confettis, or any materials that will be left on the floor.
c. All props must be carried out from the performance area by the performers after their
presentation.
d. Sample props that can be used: flags, banners, signs, pom-poms, megaphones, pieces of cloths.
e. All props must be safely discarded out of harms way. (e.g. throwing a hard sign across the mat).
4. Criteria for Judging
a. Choreography (Creativity, technique, concept/themes, formation, timing, spacing, 25%
coordination, mastery and perfection of whole routine)
b. Yell/Cheer/Chant (Word clarity and volume, motion synchronization) 25%
c. Costume and Props (Design and Creativity, Appropriateness of Costume, Visual Impact) 25%
d. Mascot (Mascot Costume/Presentation, Relevance, Creativity) 25%
Note: Judges will compose of representatives from each participating college.
All of which will give scores to the team except his/her own college team.
Average score of a team will be the top 7 scores from the 8 judges.
5. Penalties and Deductions
All deductions will be subtracted from the general average score. A separate penalty/deduction
judge shall be assigned. A penalty/deduction sheet shall be given immediately after the
performance of a team, so they will have a chance to appeal.
The following violations shall have the corresponding penalties as listed:

6. Mechanics for Complaints and Appeals:
a. Complaints or appeals must only be regarding possible violations of the rules and not the score
given by any of the judges.
b. Complaints or appeals will only be entertained within 10 minutes starting right after the last
penalty/deduction sheet has been issued to the last performer.
c. Only the assigned faculty coordinator is allowed to forward the complaint or appeal to the
penalty/deduction judge. Complaints/appeals from the other entities will not be entertained.
d. After 10-minute allotted time, no more complaints or appeals shall be entertained and the
complaint/appeal committee shall be given 5 minutes to deliberate. The decision of the
committee shall be final and irrevocable.
e. After all valid complaints and appeals have been entertained, the decision of the judges as
reflected in the final results shall be final and irrevocable.

LITMUS Competitions

I. Academic Quiz Show
a. Quiz show categories are as follows: Math & Science, General Information and Current Events
(World Leaders), and Spelling.
b. A board of experts, members of which shall be determined by the Chief Librarian and the UC
High School Principal (contest chairpersons), shall be the source of questions. Custodian of
questions shall be the Corporate Communications office.
c. As a general rule, all answers of the given questions are sourced out from any reference material
that is available in the UC Library.
d. Math and Science questions will cover High School Math topics (Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra,
and Trigonometry) and High School Science topics (General Science, Biology, Chemistry, and
Physics).
e. The board of experts shall also serve as adjudicators during the contest proper to rule and
decide over possible disputes in answers. The boards decision shall be final and irrevocable.
f. Each college is required to field a team of three members each in the three categories. No
student can be in more than one category. No college can field more than one team per
category.
g. Quiz show shall be in two rounds: the elimination round and the final round. Only three teams will
advance to the final round.
h. During the elimination round, corresponding scores shall be given for correct answers to
questions depending on the degree of difficulty: 5 points for easy questions, 10 points for
average questions, and 15 points for difficult questions. Answers shall be written on boards
provided. In all categories, spelling and unit systems of answers must be correct to be
considered. First three teams to garner a total of 50 points shall advance to the final round.
i. If the third slot will be contested due to tied scores, tie-breaker questions shall be given to the
contesting teams only, where teams with correct answers gains advantage and those with
incorrect answers are dropped-off. The third slot will be given to the one team left with an
advantage.
j. In the final round, an automatic shut-off device shall be used. Only the team who will be able to
buzz first shall be given the privilege to answer orally with the use of a microphone. Questions will
be read twice and buzzing can be done starting at the moment the question is read until 10
seconds (20 seconds for spelling and longer time can be given for Math questions) after the
second reading of the question. Corresponding points shall again be given for every correct
answer. Any wrong answer shall give the other two teams to steal by buzzing. Only a second
team can steal a question and answer. If the second team gives another incorrect answer,
there will be no more stealing allowed.
k. The quizmaster shall give out all questions allotted for the final round (2 easy, 2 average, and 2
difficult). The final scores of the three teams shall determine the final team rankings. If a score is
tied, tie-breaking questions shall be given to the tied teams, and the same auto shut-off rule
applies, until one team gains advantage by answering correctly. Stealing is also allowed during
tie-breaking questions.
l. If in any case where a team utters two contradicting answers, the first word/term uttered shall be
considered the official answer.
At any point during the elimination or final round, a teams captain or coach may raise a
complaint or query on any answer given by any team. This can only be done before the
quizmaster gives the next question. If the next question is already read, no more complaints shall
be entertained. The board of experts shall resolve complaints and queries, and their decision
shall be final and irrevocable.

II. Oration
a. Each college is required to field one contestant. A student can only join one
category in the literary competitions. No college can field more than one contestant.
b. An oration piece, encoded in short bond paper, using 12pt Times New Roman and single-
spaced, must be submitted in five copies along with the entry form.
c. The oration piece must be in English, original, conforms to the given theme, and must be
delivered during the contest proper between 5 to 7 minutes.
d. A penalty of 10 points will be deducted from the average score for any infraction of time limit.
e. Theme of the speech must revolve around the topic: Leaders amongst us.
f. Appropriate costume to identify the character may be used.
g. Contestants shall all be seated at the stage area before the competition starts, and a
contestant shall only move forward to deliver the speech once he/she is called. Sequence
order shall be by draw lots to be done before the competition proper. A contestant not present
during the drawing of lots shall be disqualified. Punctuality is a must.
h. Guest judges from outside of UC shall be invited to form as panel of judges, which shall use the
following criteria for judging:
Content (Substance, relevance to the theme, organization, and persuasiveness) 40%
Delivery (Voice, clarity and projection, pronunciation & articulation) 30 %
Craftsmanship (Vocabulary and language, style & emotions, stage presence) 20 %
Personality (Connection & eye contact Posture & gestures Confidence) 10 %
i. Delivery shall be without microphone.
j. Decision of the panel of judges shall be final and irrevocable.

III. Extemporaneous Speaking
a. Each college is required to field one contestant. A student can only join one category in the
literary competitions. No college can field more than one contestant.
b. Contestants shall all be seated at the stage area before the competition starts, and a
contestant shall only move forward to the rostrum to deliver his/her speech when he/she is
called. Sequence order shall be by draw lots to be done before the competition proper. A
contestant not present during the drawing of lots shall be disqualified. Punctuality is a must.
c. Each contestant shall be given a topic (famous lines of renowned leaders) to discuss which
he/she shall pick from a box four (4) minutes before his delivery. He may start composing his/her
thoughts within four (4) minutes before his delivery. After the 4 minutes preparation time, he/she
shall be given three (3) minutes to deliver his/her speech. An emcee will read the question/topic
to signal the start of the timer and the speech. A sign will be flashed if there will only be 1 minute
left and a bell shall ring to indicate the end of the three (3) minutes, where the contestant will
have to end his/her speech within an allowance of 10 seconds.
d. If speaker refuses to end after the allowance of 10 seconds, a penalty of 10 points will be
deducted from the average score.
e. Guest judges from outside of UC shall be invited to form as panel of judges, which shall use the
following criteria for judging:
Content and Knowledge 30 %
(Relevance to the topic, grasp & use of information, and substance & comprehensiveness)
Organization and Structure 30 %
(Logical & interesting flow, consistency of thought, easily understandable)
Delivery and Speaking Skills 30 %
(Pronunciation and enunciation, style and variety, rate and tone, range of vocabulary)
Stage presence 10 %
(Animation and gestures, attire, personality & confidence)
f. Delivery shall be at the center stage, with or without microphone, depending on preference of
contestant.
g. Decision of the panel of judges shall be final and irrevocable.

IV. Poetry Interpretation
a. Each college is required to field one contestant. A student can only join one
category in the literary competitions. No college can field more than one contestant.
b. A contest piece, encoded in short bond paper, using 12pt Times New Roman and single-
spaced, must be submitted in five copies along with the entry form.
c. The contest piece must be in English, and restricted to poetry only, whether lyric, narrative, epic,
romance or ballad, by any author; and must be delivered by full memory (no reading allowed)
during the contest proper in not more than 5 minutes.
d. Penalty of 10 points will be deducted from the average score if delivery exceeds 5 minutes.
e. Appropriate costume and props (handheld only) to identify the character may be used.
f. Contestants shall be seated at the stage area before the competition starts and a contestant
shall only move forward to deliver the piece once he/she is called. Sequence order shall be by
draw lots to be done before the competition proper. A contestant not present during the
drawing of lots shall be disqualified. Punctuality is a must.
g. Guest judges from outside of UC shall be invited to form as panel of judges, which shall use the
following criteria for judging:
Interpretation (Appropriate & identifiable emotions, characterization) 40%
Delivery (Voice, clarity & projection, pronunciation & articulation, phrasing) 40%
Mastery 10%
Over-all Impact (Stage Presence, costume) 10%
h. Delivery shall be at the center stage without microphone.
i. Decision of the panel of judges shall be final and irrevocable.

V. Story Telling
a. Each college is required to field one contestant. A student can only join one category in the
literary competitions. No college can field more than one contestant.
b. A contest piece, encoded in short bond paper, using 12pt Times New Roman and single-
spaced, must be submitted in five copies along with the entry form.
c. The contest piece must be in English, must have the element of humor, written by local or foreign
authors; and must be delivered during the contest proper in not more than 7 minutes.
d. Delivery may be partly or fully read as part of characterization.
e. Penalty of 10 points will be deducted from the average score if delivery exceeds 7 minutes.
f. Appropriate costume and props (handheld only) to identify the character/s may be used.
g. Contestants shall be seated at the stage area before the competition starts and a contestant
shall only move forward to deliver the piece once he/she is called. Sequence order shall be by
draw lots to be done before the competition proper. A contestant not present during the
drawing of lots shall be disqualified. Punctuality is a must.
h. Guest judges from outside of UC shall be invited to form as panel of judges, which shall use the
following criteria for judging:
Interpretation 50%
(Appropriate & identifiable emotions, characterization, elements of the story, degree of difficulty)
Delivery (Voice, clarity & projection, pronunciation & articulation, phrasing) 40%
Over-all Impact (Stage presence, costume) 10%
i. Delivery shall be at the center stage, without microphone.
j. Decision of the panel of judges shall be final and irrevocable.

VI. Inter Collegiate Debate Championship
a. Qualifications:
Each college must field two (2) teams only.
College of Law students are prohibited to join.
All members of the team must not have won 1
st
place in any previous inter collegiate
debate competition.
All members of the team must not have represented the university in any national and/or
international competition that has similar nature to debate.
b. General guidelines:
Members of a team:
i. Each team must be composed of at least 3 members and a maximum of 4 members.
The 4
th
member as an alternate. The alternate can only take the place of anyone
from his/her team on the ground that one of the team members can no longer
participate. A team who wishes to use their alternate must inform the tournament
organizers before motions are given. Alternates are allowed only during the
elimination rounds. In case of absent speakers during the break rounds, one of the
team members may iron (deliver two non-consecutive speeches i.e. Prime Minister
and Government Whip).
ii. In case where the alternate member takes the place of one of the team members,
the alternate member shall permanently be part of the team, replaced members are
not allowed to go back and replace the alternate or any of the team members.
iii. Members of a team can alternately fulfill any of the speaker roles provided in Asian
Parliamentary Debate Format, i.e. Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Government
Whip for Government side; Leader of Opposition, Deputy Leader of Opposition,
Government Whip for Opposition side).
iv. Whip Speakers are not allowed to deliver the reply speech.
Debate rounds:
i. There will be three elimination rounds, and three final rounds as follows: Quarter-
Finals; Semi-Finals; Grand Finals.
Debaters are allowed to bring their own research materials in hard copy during the
competition, cell phones/laptops/tablets or any gadget of similar nature are prohibited from
being used starting when motions are given and while a debate round is ongoing. Moreover,
debaters are not allowed to bring their research materials when speaking in front, but they
may or may not bring their debate notes.
Once motions are given, debaters can only confer within their team excluding the alternate
speaker. In addition, coaches/trainers are not allowed to confer with their debaters once
motions are given. Coffee housing will not be allowed.
All teams will be given 30 minutes to prepare before each debate round. Time will start when
motions are given.
Each speaker shall be given seven (7) minutes to deliver their speeches. After all speakers
have made their speeches, anyone from each side except the last two speakers shall be
given four (4) minutes to deliver a reply speech.
Punctuality will be strictly implemented. Fifteen minutes leeway shall be given to late
participants, missing team/s on the sixteenth minute shall be disqualified.
In case SWING Teams are needed for the competition, debaters from the SWING Team will
be composed of members of the UC DEBATE SOCIETY or any guest debater from the Baguio
Debate Community.
c. Criteria for Judging:

Manner (Body language and vocal style) 20%
d. Guest judges/adjudicators will be invited to form as panel of judges/adjudicators.

VII. On-the-spot Photo Contest
a. Each college must field two contestants per category. Each contestant must
include a proctor-partner in the entry form. Contestant must use one camera only.
b. The categories are as follows:
Photo Theme 1: Leadership in practice
Photo Theme 2: Volunteers in action
c. Photo shooting will be done on the spot, all at the same time, within four hours. Contestants
must bring their own camera and equipment. Borrowing or lending of cameras, lenses, flash,
filters, or tripods within the 4-hour photo session is not allowed. During the photo shoot session,
a contestant will be accompanied by a proctor from a different college as verifier of photos.
After the session, contestant submits digital file of the official entry. Contestant chooses the
official entry and proctor verifies it.
d. Submitted digital files will be kept as reference but contestant must have a copy printed on
photo paper with size 8 x 10 and submitted within the next 24 hours after the photo session.
The printed copy must not have been edited nor enhanced digitally.
e. Any digital camera may be used. No strict specifications or brand is required. Lens filters
may be used but not necessary. Special camera effects and adjustments, as available in
the camera units being used, may be employed.
f. Criteria for judging:
Composition and creativity 40%
(Aesthetic value and elements, complementing surroundings with subject, and Originality)
Technique (Technical value, imaging technique, and lighting technique) 40%
Message and theme (Positive message, impact and interest) 20%

VIII. On-the-spot Poster Making Contest
a. Each college must field one contestant.
b. Specific theme will be given during contest proper.
c. Illustration boards will be provided (roughly measuring 15x20) for each participant. All other
materials must be brought by the contestant.
d. Materials allowed for poster-making to be brought and used by the contestant are:
Pencil, crayons, markers, pens, ink, Cray pass, art paper, construction paper, glue/paste, scissors, water color,
colored pencils, acrylic paints, pastel, oil paints, poster color, and drawing boards.
e. Computer-generated artworks are not allowed. Three dimensional mixed media will not be
allowed.
f. All artworks must be done only on the spot and must be completed within the allotted time
of three hours. Finished or unfinished artwork will have to be submitted after the allotted time.
g. All entries will be pre-numbered. No signatures, names, or other identifying marks should
appear at either side of the material of the entry.
h. Guest judges from outside of UC shall be invited to form as panel of judges, which shall use
the following criteria for judging:
Composition and creativity (Aesthetic value, composition, style, creativity and presentation) 40%
Originality (Use of material/media, innovation, style and technique) 30%
Message and theme (Positive message, and relevance to the theme) 30%
i. Decision of the panel of judges shall be final and irrevocable.
j. Winning and other entries shall become property of UC and may not be used for any
commercial purposes. When used or shown in public, the artist shall be properly
acknowledged. Artworks may also be shown in any Green Is In event wherever appropriate.

IX. Short Documentary Feature Video Competition
a. Each college must submit an entry, where video is produced, shot and performed
(as host or reporter, subject characters not included) by a student or students of up
to three members. No college may submit more than one entry.
b. Video must be at least three minutes long but not longer than four minutes.
c. Story or feature shall answer or depict the theme: Leadership and Volunteerism in the UC
Community.
d. It must be presented like a short documentary or a human-interest news report, and can be
shot on- or off-campus.
e. Images of sex, violence, or those that will cause discomfort to viewers are not allowed.
Appearance of characters or personalities who are the main features of the story must be
with their consent. Be conscious of the rights to privacy of certain individuals.
f. Video may not necessarily be shot or edited professionally. Any digital cameras or phone
cameras can be used. It may incorporate a host or reporter; or just complete live voice-over
annotations or commentaries.
g. Submitted entries must be in AVI, MP4 or WMV format recorded in CDR, with accompanying
entry form, not later than 5:00PM of the set deadline(on or before November 19, 2013). Early
submission will be greatly appreciated.
h. Entries will become property of UC and may not be used for any commercial purposes.
When used or shown in public, video makers shall be properly acknowledged. Videos may
also be shown in any Green Is In event, wherever appropriate.
i. Any part in the video that will be found infringing copyrighted materials will be automatically
disqualified.
j. Criteria for judging are as follows:
Videography (Technique and creativity, cinematography & effects, video and audio quality) 40%
Story (Originality, and relevance to the theme) 40%
Impact (Positive message, and overall impact of story) 20%
k. Decision of the panel of judges shall be final and irrevocable.

X. Singing Competitions
a. Each college must enter one entry for each category: Vocal Solo and Vocal Duet. A student
should join in one category only.
b. Qualifications:
CCP Chorale Members, professional singers (those paid or being paid for performing) and
winners of citywide, region-wide or nationwide singing competitions are not allowed to join.
(Members who have become scholars from SY 2012-2013 to 2013-2014)
c. General guidelines:
The contestants shall choose their own contest piece. Chosen song shall be identified in the
entry form, with an accompanying CD minus one, and cannot be changed after submission
of entry forms. Entry forms must be submitted not later than the specified deadline.
Penalty of 10 points will be deducted from the average score for a performance that
exceeds 4 minutes.
Contestants per category shall all be seated at the stage area before the competition starts,
and contestant/s shall only move forward to perform when called. Sequence order shall be
by draw lots to be done before the competition proper. Contestants not
present during the drawing of lots shall be disqualified. Punctuality is a must.
Guest judges will be invited to form as panel of judges.

d. Criteria for Judging for Vocal Solo:
Vocal Quality (Range, tone and quality) 40%
Performance technique (Originality, style, and vocal dynamics) 30%
Stage Presence (Attire, animations, gestures, facial expression, and confidence) 20%

e. Criteria for Judging for Vocal Duet:
Vocal Quality (Range, tone and quality) 40%
Performance technique (Vocal harmony, originality and style) 30%
Stage Presence (Attire, animations, gestures, facial expression and confidence) 20%

f. Judges decision will be final and irrevocable.

XI. Song-Writing Contest
a. Qualifications:
Each college must enter a team composing of a melody composer, lyricist, and interpreter.
One person may assume the three roles. The interpreter may be a soloist or a group of up to
8 persons only, including instrumentalists.
Professional songwriters (those paid or being paid for writing songs, jingles or lyrics) and
winners of citywide, region-wide or nationwide songwriting competitions are not allowed to
join.
i. Members of the UC Chorale and Percussion & Orchestra are NOT allowed to join the
competition but may be asked to help or assist their respective colleges. (Members
who have become scholars from SY 2012-2013 to 2013-2014)
b. Submission of entries:
Each college must submit the entry not later than the specified deadline. A college cannot
submit more than one entry. An entry must be packaged in short brown envelop, containing
the following:
i. Accomplished entry form.
ii. CD recording of the song containing two tracks, in WAV or music format: the song
entry with vocals, and a minus-one version. CD must not be labeled. Recording may
not be necessarily professionally done as judging will be done during the live
performance. Submitted CD recordings are for references only.
iii. Five hardcopies of the lyrics, in 12pt Times New Roman, single-spaced, and with title
only and no identifying marks of authors or colleges.
c. General Guidelines:
Entries must be affirmed as original composition of composers.
Any entry that will be proven to be not original shall be disqualified, and no substitute entry
may be allowed.
Songs must not be more than four and a half minutes (4:30), and may be in any musical
genre as long as the message shall adhere to the given theme below.
Theme and lyrics should be inspirational/motivational. A song that will encourage people to
always be hopeful and strive for the best in spite of the many challenges in life. The message
of the song can be derived from the theme The Leader in You
During the live performance, interpreter/s (singer and/or accompanying instrumentalists) will
be allotted 30 seconds only for set-up.
Penalty of 5 points will be deducted from average score if setup time exceeds 30 seconds;
and/or, 10 points deduction if performance time exceeded 4 and a half minutes.
Submitted songs shall become property of UC and will not be used for any commercial or
income-generating activities. If any of the songs will be used by UC in school or in public, UC
shall acknowledge authors of said songs.
Guest judges will be invited to form as panel of judges, where judging will be done during a
live performance on November 28, 2012.

d. Criteria for Judging:
Musical Structure (Style, creativity, originality, arrangement, and musicality) 30%
Melody (Appeal, recall and strength of melody) 30%
Lyrics (Relevance to the theme, writing style and vocabulary) 30%
Interpretation 10%
e. Judges decision will be final and irrevocable.

XII. Creative Group Dance Competition
1. Members of a team:
a. Each college squad must be composed of 8-12 members, with at least four males and four
females. All of which must be duly enrolled in their colleges as endorsed by their deans.
Participants of a team are NOT allowed to join another group.
b. Students should pass at least 50% of the enrolled units last trimester he or she attended.
c. Members of UC-CCP are NOT allowed to join the competition but may be asked to help or
assist their respective colleges. (Members who have become scholars from SY 2012-2013 to
2013-2014)
2. Routine Requirements:
a. Routine Time
i. Time of presentation must be within a minimum of 4 minutes to a maximum of 5
minutes. Time starts at the first organized dance movement and/or at the start of music,
whichever comes first.
ii. Each team will be given 1 minute set up before the time starts.
iii. Any infraction of the allotted time will cost a deduction of 10 POINTS from the teams
general average score.
b. Music must be burned in CD format.
i. Explicit vulgarity in music is prohibited.
ii. Produce 2 copies at the day of competition.
iii. Assign someone from your team/college to play your music at the technical booth.
c. Dance Routine
i. Routine must be a creative dance in mixed or new genre with the use of handheld
apparatus/props (e.g. fans, flags, ropes, ribbons, etc.)
ii. Dance routine should remain wholesome the whole time. Explicit vulgarities in dance
steps are not allowed.
3. Allowed Costumes and Props:
a. Costumes must be within standards of decency. Cross dressing not allowed.
b. Standard props may be used but not any liquids, flammable materials, confettis, or any
materials that will be left on the floor.
c. Stand-alone props must be set up within the allotted time
d. All props must be carried out from the performance area right after each performance.
e. Criteria for Judging
Choreography (Creativity of choreography, partner interaction/effects and use of space / levels) 25%
Execution (Synchronization, timing & spacing, coordination, mastery, perfection of whole routine) 25%
Creativity (Concept/theme, originality, and visual effect) 25%
Costume and Props (Creativity, effective use of costumes and props) 25%
f. Judges decision will be final and irrevocable.

XIII. Duo Dance
a. Each college must enter one pair only, any gender combination.
b. Students should pass at least 50% of the enrolled units last trimester he or she attended.
c. Members of UC-CCP are NOT allowed to join the competition but may be asked to help or
assist their respective colleges. (Members who have become scholars from SY 2012-2013 to
2013-2014)

dance steps are not allowed.
e. Allowed Costumes and Props:
i. Costumes must be within standards of decency. Cross dressing not allowed.
ii. Standard props may be used but not any liquids, flammable materials, confettis, or
