Five Phases Of My Professional Development

(he arti#le Sho)s the five phases of my Professional development after #oming
to the allian#e university* Bangalore+ ,o) i managed stress and time - different
situtaions all together+

First Phase' I st Semester

(his )as the phase )hen i first .oined the #ollege* - )as a#tually e/perien#ing
the #ollege life for the first time ever+ I )as very #onfident and bold that i )ould
have a great learning e/perin#e + And )ould ma0e good net)or0ing among the
#olleagues+ 1ith a lot more e/pe#taions about my future and personal life+ But
as the semester days started passing by+ I felt mu#h stressed )ith all the
assgnments and presentations )or0+ I )as not able to adapt the situations+
obody i #ould find out )ho )ould happily help me+ (here )as already groups
formed based on the geographi#al distributions+It sometimes bea#ame very
tough for me to manage the things+ But someho) i started #oping up and
managed to s#ore very )ell in e/ams+ (hat )as the time i reali2ed that studies
#an help me a lot+ Be#ause all the eyes )ho )ould never have re#oni2ed me*
started re#goni2ing me+ 3h44 30ay hes the one and he is the finan#e topper+ I
felt very good by hearing that+
I regained my lost #onfiden#e and Started parti#ipated in #lass room dis#ussion
)ith an ease+ So* i learned to be more #onfident and determinant+ Also learned
that ho) to deal )ith different 0ind of people+
(his )as the phase )hen i a#5uired 0no)ledge about various #on#epts and
theories+ And started thin0ing rationaly about all the various situions+

#e(on) Phase' II Semester

(his )as the phase )hen )e parted and ne) #lassrooms )ere allotted )ith ne)
#olleagues all over again e/#lusively #alled as the finan#e se#tion+ I )as #harged
enough )ith little nervosunes as to ho) )ould i pass all the finan#e sub.e#ts+
But alas4 i )as happy enough+ In this phase of professional development i
a#tually applied my old learning for theories into pra#ti#al+ o)* i started
en.oying doing assgnments+ And )ould )or0 upon them )ith more 2est and

2eal+ Be#ause i have good 0no)ledge base* i )as able to apply them at the right
time and on the right situtaions+ I a#tully be#ame a bit over #onfident in this
phase+ And i very )ell 0ne) this+ I planned many things but )as not able to do
them be#ause of my over #onfiden#e+

*hir) Phase' Internship

(hird phase of my professional development )as my internship e/perien#e+
I got an opportunity to do my internship )ith Protiviti Consulting Pvt 6imited* a
!S based #onsulting #ompany ran0ing 7'th in the )orld+ I )as again very
amused )ith the situation that i had a better opportunity no) and that too in
mumbai the finan#ial #apital of India+ In mumbai during my internship days* i
had a great learning e/perien#e* i learnt about many different finan#ial theories
and also learned the pra#ti#le appli#ation of these theories* there )as time )hen
i got strresed up )hen i had no )or0 to do and i had to thin0 of )ays that ho)
to tell my manager that i )ant some good )or0 rather than doing the data entry
.obs+ I learnt the managerial )ays of #ommuni#ating+ And gained to see -
analyse the things )ith a holisti# appro#h+ I travelled from mumbai to gurgaon
on different assgnments )ith my offi#e #ollegues+ And learnt ho) the business
meeting are being #ondu#ted* ho) the real #orporate )orld )or0s+ 1hat are the
happenings in the #orporate )orld+ho) the day to day )or0ing are being done+
And to )hat e/tend C839S of the #omapnies goes* to amuse their employees* so
that they dont feel stressed )ith )or0 load+ As )hole living in mumbai )as a
great learing e/perien#e* meeting ne) people daily+ Mumbai made me learned
the a#tual time management s0ills+ Be#ause of my manager and the lo#al trains
)hi#h never stops for anyone+

(his phase starts )hen i a#tually #ame ba#0 to #ollege+ 3n#e again the same life
started but 0no) having gained the industry e/perien#e+ I #ould relate the things
mu#h 5ui#0ly than before+ In #ase of solving #ase studies no)* I #ould a#tully
thin0 of the situtaions and imagine the real s#enario as to )hat )ould have
a#tually happened at the time of the problem+ 1ith more of the finan#e sub.e#ts
in the semester* and the level of in#reased #ompetition i am no) )or0ing hard

Fiveth Phase' IV Semester
:iveth phase of my development )ould be fo#used more on enri#hing myself
)ith industry 0no)ledge and #on#epts+ Maintaing my same a#ademi# position i
)ould no) fo#uss more on net)or0ing )ith all my fa#ulties and #ollegues+ As i
0no) that this net)or0ing )ill help me in my future endavevour+ As i )ould
0no) that this )ould be my last opportunity to grab all the 0no)ledge and
attention+ :o#using more on dis##ussions )ith peers and understanding the
situtions+ In short this phase )ould no) again )ill be phase )here i )ill be
