EDITORIAL: Our Traditional September Project

the traditional collection of Naukova Zmina students essays
is compiled exclusively by Group 34-Ph

Naukova Zmina Lycee is considered to be one of the best
schools in Kyiv. The students of our lycee usually win
scientific work contests and subject Olympiads every year;
our graduates enter the best Ukrainian universities and some
famous foreign universities. Many of our graduates have
already become great professionals and realized themselves
in life. I think such success is possible due to the teachers of Naukova Zmina
Lycee, as most of them are outstanding personalities and great professionals. I
respect all of them, but there are some teachers, without whom I can't even
imagine our lycee, because they are my favorite teachers.
Oleksiy Oleksandrovych Zabolotny is our English teacher. He is
not only a great professional, but also smart, exciting and kind
person. We like discussing some controversial questions and
share our thoughts with him. In his lessons, we don't only learn
English but we raise our general level of knowledge. Oleksiy
Oleksandrovych often tells us different amazing facts, which are
easy to remember, and he helps us not only to learn English, but
to "feel" it. And another quality that I highly appreciate is our teacher's sense of
humor.
Olena Vasylivna Atamas is our History teacher. She is
extremely lively, sincere and sociable and, of course, a
super-professional teacher. Her lessons are always
exciting, and what is really important, she can confirm
her stories by her own experience and knowledge
acquired while travelling to different countries. She
treats her students as precious personalities and dear friends of hers, so we are
kindly disposed towards her, too.
Oksana Mykhailivna Venger teaches Physics. I
had never enjoyed Physics before I attended her
lesson. Oksana Mykhailivna's explanations are
always easy to understand. She gives many
illustrative examples while explaining the new topic.
She is a rather fair teacher and the marks which she
puts are always reasonable. There is also one fact
about Oksana Mykhailivna that excited our class very
much - she has even seen the famous Hadron
Collider!
So, we love our teachers very much and we're proud of their best qualities
which help them to be the most skillful, experienced and cool teachers in the
world!

Olena Vasylivna ATAMAS
My favorite teacher is Olena Vasylivna.
She is our History teacher. She is a true master of
her subject. In fact, we feel at ease when she
teaches us. She makes History so interesting for
all of us that we all enjoy it. We eagerly wait for
her period every day and feel very sad when she
is absent. She is very kind, helping and caring. She
is always ready to listen patiently to the problems
of the students. She never refuses to help any
child. So many times she goes out of her ways to
help students. All these qualities make Olena
Vasylivna a favorite teacher for many students.

Each of us has heard the famous quote by George Santayana Those
who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it at least
once. In fact, I`m not the exception. In my opinion, History classes are
one of the most important ones because of the great experience that
we get learning about the great deeds of the great people or the awful
crimes of the most outstanding villains of all times.
But the main reason for me to wait for History lessons is the teacher
who makes me forget about the century I live in and to travel to the
old times when I listen to her. The name of this person I really adore
is Olena Vasylivna ATAMAS. Sometimes I open the book in advance in
order to look what topic will be discussed at the next History lesson.
And quite often the topic is so boring and tiresome that I can`t even
imagine how it can possibly be interesting for me. But Olena Vasylivna
always finds the method to tell all this stuff in the most interesting
and effective way.
After everything that have been written by me you may decide that I
am the one who visited a lot of lessons with this teacher. To tell you
the truth, I have had only two History lessons in Naukova Zmina so far
but they impressed me so much
that it seems as if I have been
studying here for a long time. I am
looking forward to having the next
History lesson on Wednesday!

Our school has a lot of wonderful teachers, but now I want to tell you
about my favourite teacher. Her name is Atamas' Olena Vasylivna. The
subject she teaches is History. We are lucky to have such a nice teacher
of History. Olena Vasylivna is a very good professional. She is
competent in everything what she teaches us. We all stay quiet when
she teaches. She makes sure that we understand the subject very well.
Each time we have a history lesson she tells us interesting stories about
old times in Ukraine and some other countries of the world. This is the
best teacher for me. I think Im not the only pupil in the class, who likes
History lessons. Almost everybody seems to enjoy them.

Iryna Mykolaivna KOVALYOVA
I like many teachers and I think that's hard to choose
the one and the only favorite, because everyone seems
to be perfect. Every teacher teaches his own way: some
are strict; some really have a nice sense of humour.
If to think more and choose the one teacher I like the
most, I think it is Iryna Mykolaivna - the teacher of
world literature.
I like her because she's very clever and beautiful. At her
lessons I always listen carefully, trying to memorize
everything. She tells very interesting things and not
very loudly. There's always some special atmosphere in the class on the
lessons, we can joke sometimes and I feel comfortable. She's also fair, so if you
get a mark, you definitely know the material at that level.
I liked literature very much, thanks to her. I found out many interesting books
and stories. And I think she changed my life not only with her subject but
herself, by the way she behaves, by her graceful manners. For me she is an
example to follow, a true role model.
That's why I think she's my favorite teacher.

There are a lot of teachers in my school and I like all of them.
They all are very kind and smart. But my favorite teacher is
Mrs. Kovalyova.
She is our foreign literature teacher. She is a middle-aged
woman, quite tall with a very beautiful smile. She is intelligent
and a master of her subject. This is one quality that impresses
all the students. She is quite strict , but in spite of this all the
students love her. Probably it is because we feel at ease when
she is around. She makes every student love literature, even if
the student's never liked it before. With this great woman it's almost impossible. Her
periods are always so interesting, because she makes literature interesting for us. She's
very soft spoken, kind and smart. And at the same time she's always ready to listen
patiently to the problems of the students. Also, she's so patriotic that she teaches us
how to love our country, which I personally really like about Iryna Mikolayivna.
All these qualities make her not only a favorite of mine but of all the students

Valentyna Mykolaivna SCHERBYNA
Learning a foreign language is not an
easy task. It is a long and slow process
that takes a lot of time and efforts.
That is why it is very important to
have a good teacher. I am very
grateful to my German teacher who made me interested in this subject.
Valentina Scherbyna is our teacher of German. She is still young and
energetic, and she has a good command of the German language.
Valentina Mykolaivna does her best to make our lessons interesting.
During the lessons we learn grammar rules and do grammar exercises,
discuss different topics. When we dont know some words, she helps
us. We arent afraid of making mistakes because she doesnt criticize us
for them. I think we are very lucky to have her as our teacher of
German.
Teachers do not only teach their subjects.
They develop their pupils intellect, their
attitudes to life and to other people. With
the help of my teacher I learned a lot. The
knowledge of foreign languages opens
many doors before us, gives us many
opportunities and advantages.

OLEKSANDR VALERIOVICH VOLK IS A TEACHER OF
COMPUTER EDUCATION IN NAUKOVA ZMINA
LYCEUM. HIS CLASS ROOM IS ON THE SECOND FLOOR,
NEAR THE ROOM OF ALEKSEY ALEKSANDROVICH
ZABOLOTNIY, WHO IS MY SECOND FAVOURITE
TEACHER. ACTUALLY I WANTED TO WRITE ABOUT HIM,
BUT THEN THOUGHT THAT IT WILL BE UNORIGINAL,
BECAUSE ALMOST EVERYBODY IS GOING TO WRITE
ABOUT HIM. HE IS ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS IN THE
WORLD, WE THINK. SO I AM WRITING ABOUT
OLEKSANDR VALERIOVICH, WHO ISNT SO FAMOUS,
BUT IS A BRILLIANT TEACHER TOO. HE IS ABOUT 30
YEARS OLD (I DONT KNOW CERTAINLY, HE REFUSES TO
TELL ME HIS AGE). HE STARTED TEACHING AT THE
LYCEUM 2 YEARS AGO, AND FOR THIS SHORT TIME HAS
GOT GREAT RESPECT FROM STUDENTS. HE IS FRIENDLY,
CONFIDENT AND CLEVER. I THINK HE CAN TEACH EVEN A
TRIBESMAN HOW TO WORK ON A COMPUTER IN A
MINUTE. THATS WHY HE IS MY, AND NOT ONLY MY,
FAVOURITE TEACHER. GREAT HEALTH TO YOU,
OLEKSANDR VALERIOVICH!

Oleksiy Oleksandovych ZABOLOTNY
In Naukova Zmina Lycee all the teachers are
professional and dedicated. I like many of them, but my
favorite teacher is AlexeyAlexandrovich Zabolotny. I met
him two years ago in the children's summer camp ARGO,
where he was (and still is) the Chief Supervisor. After the
holidays I went back to school and learned that my
English teacher is Alexey Alexandrovich. I was happy
because, even in the camp, I liked him not only as a
person but also as a teacher. He is able to organize
studying and resting, so we got new knowledge easily.
He is my favorite teacher for several reasons. Firstly I really like the subject he
teaches, secondly his lessons are always very interesting and along with studying
we learn a lot of interesting information.

I've just recently started studying at this
school only this school year, so I can't
judge all the teachers who teach us. Also
I might be inclined to exaggerations.
Everyone seems to have a serious
attitude to the subjects they teach and
expects everyone to make maximum
efforts.
Among all the teachers who have already conducted at least one or two lessons I
like my English teacher best of all. He is devoted to his subject and often tries not
to make everybody insane by giving an enormous home task or by causing
information overload. He also has good sense of humor which is also awesome. I
don't mean that he's ideal, as I haven't known him for much time yet after all, but
I can say for sure that he is one of the best English teachers that have ever taught
me.
To sum up, I'd like to say one more time that I haven't been here for a long time
so I don't know for sure if my opinion will change or not.

Aleksei Alexandrovich Zabolotny is my favorite teacher. You ask me why?
Perhaps because I have six lessons of English per week and because of that I think
I have begun to see him more often than my mom!
Ok, actually he is a very good
person. He is very kind and
equitable .He is very wise and
sometimes very funny. Every
week he tries to tell us some new
and interesting information. But
most of all I like his lectures
about the history of the USA.
As for me I think he is a really
good teacher!
