Our furlough is just about over as I am writing this

Newsletter to you. We wanted this to be full of pictures so
that you could get some of the feel of what it has been like to
be here for this year. This picture had to be the first one
because in this year this is what we did more than anything
else. We figure that with all the mission related traveling and
personal trips our furlough used up right at 60,000 miles. As
we pulled up to your house, or into the Church parking lot,
and as we headed out again, this was your first and last view
of the Bairds. To some of you we were not strangers, but you
all "invited us in," into your lives and into your hearts and into

A big change for us this next

term is that Rachel is going to
Boarding School. The name of her
school is Rethy Academy and It is
located in Zaire.

"The Princess" at Dance Recital and Top Honors at Piano Recital

She will be at

school for 3 months and home for

one month. All of hertraveling will

be by plane and Rethy is about 1.5
hours away from Bafwasende. If
