Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Pangilinan plan to adopt a boy soon

By Noel Orsal & Jocelyn Dimaculangan

Sharon Cuneta dedicated her Best

Actress award (for the movie Mano Po
6: A Mother's Love) to her three
daughters and her soon-to-be adopted
son.

Sharon Cuneta made a big revelation as

she accepted her award as Best Actress
for the Metro Manila Film Fest entry
Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love. Aside
from dedicating the trophy to her dearly
departed Yaya Luring, she also
dedicated her award to her soon-to-be-
adopted child.

"To my husband for always supporting

me, to my children who had so many
questions dahil laging wala si Mommy para sa shooting na ito. KC, Frankie, and Miel, I
love you. And to baby boy we will soon adopt. To my Mommy Elaine Cuneta, I love you
Mama. This movie is about a mother and her love for her children.

I'd also like to share this award with my Sharonians [cheers
from the crowd], thank you so much.

"This is for my Yaya Luring, I know you're here... baka mas postura ka pa sa akin," said
the Megastar with a smile.

In her speech, Sharon recalled that she already won the Best Actress People's Choice
Award for the 2003 MMFF entry Crying Ladies. However, this is the first time that she
was honored by the MMFF executive committee, which makes this award very close to
her heart.

Sharon also said in her speech: "I would like to thank my co-stars: Zsa Zsa Padilla, my
wonderful partner in Mano Po 6. Ang pinaka-effective na kontrabida ay ang mga
pinakamalapit sa akin. Heart Evangelista, congratulations [for winning Best Supporting
Actress]. After a long search for the right actress for this role, God really gave you to us
for this project. There's no other actress who could step into this role. Thank you, Heart."
Last night, December 28, Sharon also commended the MMFF executive committee for
conducting a classy awards night at the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia.

"Let's make it glamorous again. I hope the coming awarding ceremonies will be very
glamorous ulit para mabuhay ulit ang [Philippine cinema]," she said in an interview with
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the entertainment press.

Is she inspired to do more films in the future because of this award given to her?

"Oo naman po, pero lagi naman akong inspired. Nadagdagan lang ng 20 percent."

Senator Kiko Pangilinan, who was seated beside the Megastar for the duration of the
night, then talked about how supportive and how proud he was of his wife.

"Siyempre, 150 percent support sa lahat ng mga gusto niyang gawin," he said. "I'm very,
very proud.

When asked to confirm their plans to adopt soon, Sharon replied, "Yes, we plan to adopt
a boy. Puro girl, e."

To date, Sharon has a daughter (KC Concepcion) with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion
and two daughters (Frankie and Miel) with Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
