This is a high rated, long book mostly written by Henry Ford himself about his life and
work so far in 1922. This was one of my best sources, and I used it for a number of
quotes and for knowledge about how he ran his company.
Documents
The First Assembly Line, an essay by Henry Ford, 1913. Colbert, David,

This is a short essay by Henry Ford talking about the assembly line. He explains why and
how they started using the moving assembly line. I used this source for one quote on my
career page.

I used this image as the header of my home page because it shows the typical Ford
assembly line in 1920. In the picture it shows the Model T body being connected to the

This is a picture of people on the Ford assembly putting together a wheel. It shows how
they started bringing the work to the people and they all had one job. This picture is next
to the paragraph on the assembly line in the career tab.
Interviews
Interview with Henry Ford. Detroit News, November 4, 1916. Reprinted in John B. Rae,

This was an interview with Henry Ford about his business in the early 1910s. He asked
Ford questions about how many cars he made and sold. I used this information to find
that Ford sold all of the cars they were able to make and that it was a matter of how many
cars they made.

Henry Ford wrote about his company to the public on the 30th anniversary of Ford. This
letter talks about some of the accomplishments they had things that they have done to
make it so far. I used this letter to learn about the company and for one quote in the career
tab.

Song about a little Ford car that didnt look all that special but was better built than their
fancy car. I used a clip of this song in the career page to show how the Model T was so

This is a website about when Ford declared he would pay his workers $5 per day. I used
this source for information about the revolution and the causes/ effects of it. I also read
learned how the revolution caused the emergence of a middle class.
