CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
KATHIRESAN, (70 yrs)
A prominent gentleman with Thottam, Thoravu, Pannai etc.,
He is a respectable person in his family. His world is his 4
children. He is very affectionate to his last sons daughter
TAMILZHSELVI. He loves non- vegetarian food. He is very
excited as his children are coming for the family Temple
function (Thiruvizha) after 2 years.
VISHALAKSHI, (65 yrs)
She is a lovable and affectionate wife. She likes cooking nonvegetarian food for her husband. She takes care of the house.
She is also excited to have her 4 children and their family
visit karaikudi for the Temple function. She is close to her
grand daughter Tamizhselvi.
TAMIZHSELVI, (7 to 8 yrs)
Affectionately called as Tamizh. She is a queen of the house.
Everyone in the family is affectionate towards her. She
studies in a govt. school, 4th std and loves her village and her
pets ,especially a rooster and she calls it PAPAA. She is very
close to PAPAA. Her life revolves around her pets, village
and her family, she is not exposed to places outside her
village. She loves to swim and spends time playing village
games with her neighborhood friends and school friends.
BALAMURUGAN (43 yrs)
He is the eldest son of Kathirasan. He lives in Chennai with
his wife and children. Senthil is 17yrs old and his younger
brother KARTHIK who is 15yrs old. He is a business man.

DHANALAKSHMI (40yrs)
Dhanalakshmi is Balamurugans Wife .She is a house wife
and lives with her husband and two kids in chennai.She is
the daughter of Ramanthan and Kamatchi.
MEENAKSHI (40yrs)
She is the second child of Kathirasen who is from Dubai. She
is a housewife and has a daughter who is 15yrs old and a
son, SARAVANAN who is of the same age of Tamizhselvi. Her
husband is a construction worker in Dubai. He is caught up
with his office work and will join the function late.
MAIAPPAN 45(yrs)
He is Meenakshis Husband and is a contractor in Dubai.
GANESH (35yrs)
GANESH is a marketing manager, from Bangalore and 2nd
son of kathiresan. He is a worried person as he has no
children yet and does not get along well with his wife. (off
late)
USHA (30 yrs)
Usha is Ganeshs wife.she is a software professional and is
involved with her work too much.She is not able to conceive
and has an unsaid distance with her husband.
KUMARAN (32yrs)
He is the last child of Kathiresan. He is an MBA graduate and
does agriculture in Karaikudi with his father Kathiresan. has
a beautiful child Tamizhselvi.

THAINMUZHI (28yrs)
She is Kumarans wife.She is an educated lady but chooses to
support her husband in agriculture and stays in karaikudi
with her inlaws and her only daughter TamizhSelvi.
RAMANATHAN (68 yrs)
He is Vishalakshi brother. He listens to kathiresan and is
more of a yes man. He is from the nearby village. His
daughter is married to Balamurgan.1st son of Kathiresan
KAMATCHI (64 yrs)
She is Ramanathans wife and Thainmuzhis mother.
RAJA -SERVANT(35yrs)
Husband and wife, have been working in Kathirasens house
for long time. They takes care of all household works. They
are loyal to kathirasans family.
KALA-MAID (32yrs)
She works with her husband Raja at Kathiresans House.She
helps visalakshi and Thainmuzhi with the house chores and
cooking.
TEMPLE PRIEST (50 yrs)
He is the respectable person in the temple and kathirasan
listens to him. He does the required poojas for Kathirasans
family well being. He is the one who finds out the problem
and tells kathirasan to do the required sacrifice.

PAPAA (Rooster)
Tamizhselvis pet. Papaa is a rooster who is 2years old.He
has been brought up as Tamizhselvis pet. Papaa listens to
Tamizhselvi, they share a good bonding.
Visalakshi had prayed to god that she will offer Papaa after
an accident incident that happened 2years ago. Papaa is to
be sacrificed this year for their family god for family well
being.

SENTHIL (17yrs)
Senthil is the elder son of Balamurugan and Dhanalakshmi is
in his 1st year of college in Chennai.He is interested in
Abirami and tries hard to impress her when he meets her.
He has constant conflict with his brother karthik.
KARTHIK (14yrs)
Karthik is the youngest son of Balamurugan and
Dhanalakshmi.He is studying in his 9th standard in
Chennai.Karthik is a smart young man who shows interest in
Abhirami and doesnt mind the age difference.
ABHIRAMI (16yrs)
Abirami is the eldest daughter of Meenakshi and
Meyappan.They live in dubai and she is studying her 12th
standard.She notices Senthil trying to impress her and is
infatuated by him.
SARVANAN (8yrs)
Sarvanan is the youngest son of Meenakshi and
Meyappan.He likes to call himself shravan.He is studying in
his 4th standard in Dubai .He is not used to Karaikudi and the
village life.He loves his gadgets and talks in English all the

time confusing the relatives and people in karaikudi.He and

Tamizh have constant clash.

She is Ramanathans Grand Daughter and friends with
Tamizh Selvi.
SHOBNA (9yrs)
She is Ramanathans GrandDaughter and friends of

sells them at Rooster fighting place or to the butcher.

He is one of the organizers for Kozhi Sandai(Cock Fight).An alcoholic
who gets depressed and drinks more than he earns.
BUTCHER GUY (40yrs)
A muslim butcher shop owner which is known as the bhai kadai(Bhai
shop).
