Cuisine in your hometown

Cuisine is a characteristic style of cooking practices and traditions.


In different geographic regions are also different ways of cooking.
It is customs, habits and culture of each region. The general and the
particular mix makes Vietnam cuisine is very abundant. The food at
my hometown, Hanoi, is the most typical representative of the
culinary elite North Vietnam.
Characteristics: the moderate, not too warm but with colorful, bold
and often not spicy, fatty, sweet, mostly using diluted fish sauce,
shrimp sauce. Use more vegetable dishes and fresh seafood.
Hanoi cuisine over the years always bring a unique culture that when
referring to, people will remember the taste of Pho Hanoi (Noodle
soup), Cha ca La Vong, Banh cuon Thanh Tri, Bun Thang, Bun Cha
(Grilled Pork), Banh Tom Ho Tay,
Pho Hanoi (Noodle soup)
It could be said that this is the most popular dish in Hanoi. Pho
Hanoi has sweet nature beef bones, the aroma of cooked beef come,
watercolor translucent noodles, and thin rice noodles soft, above the
thin slices of meat with onion flowers, yellow ginger slices, some chili
padi sprinkle evenly over face bright red bowl. Only a small bowl full
convergence flavors, natural colors, eye-catching that charmed
diners.
Depending on the tastes that you can use the unripened beef noodle
soup or beef cooked.
Cha ca La Vong
This fish dish is marinated, and then grilled over charcoal pan fried
in fat. Made from simple materials, but bring a unique flavor to the

dish, taste of Cha Ca from aromatic, the sweetness of the meat


made from fish Anh Vu and added spices such as turmeric, fat, fish
sauce cooked in a particular tradition. Cha Ca must be eaten hot.
When you eat, pick up the pieces of fish into a bowl, sprinkle the fat
(boiling) on top, served with toasted pancake or Bun Roi, roasted
peanuts, cilantro, dill, onion sauce dotted with fresh chopped small
shrimp to feel all the fun of this dish.

Bun Thang
Bun thang is traditional dish of Hanoi ancient families, especially
during Tet holidays. With many ingredients and enough flavors but it
brings a sense of sound, exquisite cuisine of Ha Thanh. Not
restaurant in Hanoi are also make a bowl of Bun Thang which are
delicious and "standard", therefore, the amount of goods restaurant
is also quite modest compared with other specialties such as snail
noodle or beef noodle soup.
This dish is quite fussily. Estimated to require 20 ingredients: laksa
leaves, coriander vessels, thin fried egg, shredded chicken breast,
julienne silk rolls evenly on the white vermicelli. Requirement
Vermicelli is small fibers. Above sprinkled shrimp and sausage slices
spread.
Broth is translucent, ladled into bowls moderate. Served with
condiments such as vinegar, peppers, garlic, pepper or add some
shrimp sauce.
Banh cuon Thanh Tri
A popular dish appeared on the land for thousands of years
ancient Thang Long, Thanh Tri rolls under the burden of hawkers
around the streets of Hanoi, from early morning until noon. This is a

kind of cake made from steamed rice flour coated with thin, to eat
when still wet, roll is inside.
A savoury meal, the inside stuffing contains ground pork, wood-ear
and seasoning. Most street chefs make the dish right at door so look
for a place that steams are coming up high. Banh cuon is served with
nuoc mam, a mixture of fish sauce, sugar and lime.
Xoi xeo
Xoi xeo is sticky rice topped with ground de-hulled mung bean and
fried onion. Sometimes it can be served with eggs or steamed
chicken breast on request. The serving is really filling and it is good
for any time of the day but most Vietnamese have it for breakfast
or lunch.
Com lang vong
Have you ever heard of the special nosh from Autumn in Vong Village
(Lang Vong - a village of Hanoi capital)? Of course, it is Lang Vongs
green sticky rice (Cm), one of the most delicious specialties in
Hanoi. Its fragrance of green rice and lotus leaves and sweetness of
young rice may lure every people during their stay in Hanoi.
Lang Vong is famous for the autumns gift of green sticky rice. Also,
talking about the beautiful autumn in Hanoi cannot miss the flavor of
green sticky rice with the fresh fragrance of nature: sticky rice,
lotus leaves, etc. which make its distinct cultural beauties.

Referring to Hanoi cuisine each person will has a different


assessment. But look at the Hanoi culinary past and present, are also
rich and diverse. Around 36 streets, can easily find culinary culture
Hanoi still there, visible through the special dishes that only new

delicious in Hanoi. May be old Hanoi cuisine today has been changed a
lot. But the value of food culture and eating habits that Hanoian
leave persist through the years.
