1. Process Description (500 words, 4-5 Paragraphs)

a. How did you choose your topic? (about 75 words)
We were interested in learning about Jim Jones and the mass suicide. Jim had left a big legacy ,
even though it was not a positive one. We chose him because we had already done some
research on him on a before project and thought he would be a good person to do further research
on for our NHD project.

b. How did you conduct your research? What types of sources (newspaper,
documents, interviews, etc.) did you use? (about 100 words) We conducted our

research through a website design and set up different pages for his beliefs,
accomplishments, leadership, biography, and also a page for our research that has our
annotated bibliography. We used newspaper articles, documents and also found
people who were interviewed by him personally. Also people who wrote letters about
the time they experienced at Jonestown.

c. How did you put your project together? What skills did you learn? (about
100 words) We worked together by dividing up all the questions we had to answer
and typed them up on your website in the pages they belonged. Also we split up on
doing our annotated bibliography by dividing the number of secondary and primary
sources. We did individual research on our person for the project and we ended up
working together as a team. I think our project is being put together very nicely. We
learned how to work together without procrastinating also we learned how to be more
organized with our project.

d. How does your topic relate to the theme? (about 75 words)

e. How has your understanding of this topic changed as you have worked on
your research? (about 75 words) The understanding of this topic has really changed
our perspective on what it was like in Jims time period and how terrified those temple
works were to disobey him. Also how we imagined the way it was when he was
leading these people to their deaths was quite a scary thought to us. I could imagine
what those people had went through and how terrible it must have been.

f.

Why is this topic important in history?(about 75 words) This topic in

history is very important because it shows how people controlled the world and other
peoples beliefs and thoughts. Also how we as people should not be so blind to how
terrible things were during this time. We should be thankful that the world has
changed greatly and appreciate what kind of world we have now.
