Development
In collaboration with our commercial partner, CommonTime, we have introduced a new product
offering for 2014 the design, development and deployment of Apps. The partnership builds on
THISs 10 years experience of providing IM&T services and solutions into the NHS and CommonTimes
experience in providing enterprise mobility to a range of clients over the last 15 years.
The platform used is operating system agnostic and can easily integrate with existing clinical and
non-clinical systems. Powered by the mDesign platform, a standards-based development environment
for the creation and deployment of mobile healthcare apps, mDesign allows healthcare organisations
to convert paper-based processes into fully functional, feature rich mobile apps quickly and easily.

Pathology Exchange
The National Pathology Exchange is a lab to lab messaging solution that THIS co-host with XLab
limited. NPEx provides a LIMS agnostic solution capable of transferring work between any two
connected sites.
NPEx is a single digital hub designed to connect all NHS laboratories in the UK.
NPEx also provides a mechanism for mapping between local codes and vendor specific technologies to
national and international standards by utilising standards such as SNOMED-CT, NLMC and HL7.

Clinical Coding
Audit Service
High quality coded clinical data is essential for informing strategic and local decisions in
terms of health service and capacity planning and ensuring accurate payment through
Payment by Results. It is also crucial to understanding clinical performance and outcomes
e.g. HSMR. The high quality of clinically coded data is dependent on highly skilled clinical
coders and having a robust programme of clinical audit.
THIS can provide an approved Clinical Coding Auditor who is able to undertake clinical
coding audits to meet Information Governance (IG) Toolkit requirements 505 and ad-hoc
audits where required.
