CHAPTER I

Introduction
General
In the use of computers there are 3 components involved in intense, that
are hardware, software, and brainware (human). There are no computer
systems and computing activities that do not involve all three components.
One is the hardware that consists of several components. This one is assigned
to assist the computer to completing task which can not be done by the
hardware that is installed inside the casing. The name is Peripheral.

A. Background of the study

In the era of modernism the computer is a familiar devices for human, and
anyone didn't know a computer or using computer they will be call outdated.
Thats true, in this era of technology, computer can make easy someone that
worked in the all the moves in sector trade, agriculture , farmer, transportation,
financial, etc. and it call computerization.
As long as time moves, computers ability is increase in the function of it
coincide with hardware and software is increasing that developed by human.
So humans will be have participated in some idea and all innovated for the
evolution of technology in this world.

3. Giving the impressive experiences with by showing computer abilities in

future.
4. To build a human mindset in developing computer technology.

D. Significant of the study

This paper is expected to be more writers know what is the
purpose peripherals. So also with the hope that reader is able to
understand about Computer Peripheral.

CHAPTER II
General Discussion
A Peripheral is a additional hardware connected to the computer,
usually with the aid of wires or now many wireless peripheral devices. Is
responsible for assisting computer peripherals complete the task can not be
performed by the hardware that is installed inside the casing.
A Peripheral divided into 2:
1. Main Peripheral
A Main Peripheral is an equipment that must exist in operating a
computer.
Examples main peripheras:
a. Monitor

A monitor is a tool used to display data that has been

processed by the computer on monitor screen.

b. Keyboard

A Keyboard is a tool to enter command directly into the

computer in the form of characters, numbers, letters and ASCII
code.
c. mouse.

A Mouse is a tool to give commands to the computer in the

form of a pointer.
2. Auxillary Peripheral
A Auxillary Peripherial is a tool does not necessarily exist in
operating a computer but is required for certain activities.
Examples Auxillary Peripherial:

a. Printer

A Printer is a tool used to print the results of the computer up so

that the paper can be read. There are three known types of printers
are dot-matrix printers, inkjet printers, and laser printers.
b. Scanner

A Scanner is a tool used to take a print image (images, photos,

text) to be processed or displayed through a computer. There are
two types of scanner, handy scanner (held and moved by hand), and
a flatbed scanner (similar copier).
c. LCD Projector

A LCD Projector used to display an image on a large screen, by

means of fire light / projecting images.
d. Modem

A Modem is a tool to change signal to analog, send a computer

data over telephone lines. If you want to use the internet, modem
must be available.
e. Microphone and Speaker

A Microphone and Speaker a tool to enter and record the sound

and listen to the recordings that have been stored in the computer,
or listening to music and sound from CD, MP3 or games.

f. Joypad/Gamepad

A Joypad is a tool similar to a joystick just a different shape,

like a small board which has a handle and above there are many
buttons. Can a lso function as a mouse and playing a games.
g. External Floppy Disk Drive

A External floppy disk drive is a tool somewhere programs and

your files are stored, so that if the drive is corrupted for some
reason, you will lose the data on your computer.
h. External Zip Drive

Its function is similar to a floppy disk, the size is the same 3.5
inches just a bit thicker , but its capacity is much greater 100MB
which is approximately equal to 70 1.44MB floppy disk capacity.
Zip drives are made by the company Iomega

CHAPTER III

A. Conclution

Peripheral consists of two kinds, namely the main peripheral and

auxilarry peripherals.
A Main Peripheral is an equipment that must exist in operating a
computer. Such as monitor, keyboard, mouse.
A Auxillary Peripheral is a tool does not necessarily exist in
operating a computer but is required for certain activities. Such as printer,
scanner, modem, lcd projector, microphon, speaker, external zip drive,
joypad, etc. Peripheral is assigned to assist the computer to completing
task which can not be done by the hardware that is installed inside the
casing.

B. Suggestion
in my opinion the Indonesian colleges must be participate to
improve advancement of computer and participate in computer developed
to be a better again.
If there are wrong in the making of this paper, we apologize.
