CLASS OF 2015: GRADUATION CEREMONY INFORMATION

Below you will find information regarding end of the year senior deadlines and important information and
policies regarding the graduation ceremony. Graduation is a memorable and important milestone and
the ceremony will reflect that. This is a dignified and respectful event honoring the achievements attained
by your graduate. We hope that you enjoy this special day of endings and beginnings for your student!

Ticket Process
o Students will be given tickets at the Senior Breakfast on May 26 at 8:30 a.m. in cafeteria
o All persons attending graduation must have a ticket (exception: babies who can sit on a lap during
the event)
o Seating is first come, first served
o Each graduating family will be given 1 set of 10 tickets
o Wheelchair seating is available on the aisles of the outside rows and near the front of the auditorium
o Graduation is also shown simultaneously on FETV Channel 10 on May 31 at 2:00 pm

Senior Breakfast (Tuesday, May 26 at 8:30 a.m.)


o A final senior breakfast will be served before practice on Tuesday, May 26
o This will be an opportunity for students to be photographed for the ceremony and socialize
o Catered breakfast is provided.
o Tickets will be distributed during the breakfast

Graduation Practice (Tuesday, May 26 following Senior Breakfast)


o ALL STUDENTS ARE TO DRESS IN THEIR GRADUATION ATTIRE (incl. shoes) AND BRING
THEIR CAP AND GOWN!
o It is the policy of Fostoria High School that graduation practice is MANDATORY. Seniors who are
not present for practice will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony on May 31
o During graduation practice, a professional photographer will be available to take a shot of the
graduate receiving their diploma. There is a small fee is involved and these can be ordered online
o At the completion of practice, senior superlative pictures will be taken and students can take home
their graduation signs.

Graduation Day (Sunday, May 31 at 2pm)


Graduates must arrive no later than 1:15 p.m.
Graduates must enter through cafeteria doors
No graduates are permitted in the auditorium or hallway leading to auditorium prior to the ceremony!
Entrance doors to the school will be closed at 1:55 and will not re-open until after procession

Graduation Attire School Board Policy


o BoysDress pants, dark socks and dress shoes, dress shirt with tie
o Girls Blouse and skirt or dress, dress shoes
o Jeans or flip flops are not allowed. Due to the use of risers for graduates, high heels may pose a
problem
o Students who do not adhere to this dress code will not be allowed to participate in the graduation
ceremony.
o Gowns should be neatly pressed USE A COOL IRON

Expectations of graduation guests (please respect the dignity of the ceremony)


o Dress attire is expected; no hats
o Please be respectful in your applause, all students, and their families, deserve to hear their name
announced, just as you will want to hear your childs name.
o Standing in the aisles is NOT permitted
o Tickets are required

Blank Diploma Policy


o All seniors will receive an EMPTY diploma cover during commencement.
o Diplomas will be given to seniors in the cafeteria after graduation upon return of the cover
o If a graduate does not demonstrate appropriate behavior or disrupts the ceremony,
they will not receive a diploma until appropriate action has been taken.
