This is the last edition of the Phoenix Focus until we return back
to school. My first year as a high school principal as been quite
an experience. You never realize the job someone does until you
are sitting in that seat. I though Leigh included me, Josh, and
Tina in everything that was going on. I didnt realize how much
she protected us from. Of course, her version would be I did
show you those parts of the job we just didnt pay attention. I
appreciate all the help you have given me this year. I had the
opportunity to be in every school this year and see what those
schools look like. I feel very confident when I say you are the
best staff in Rockingham County Schools.
In last weeks edition of the Focus, I mentioned that 2015-16
would be about building relationships. I hope you will think
about that over the summer and have some things in place when
you return on how you can build better relationships with all
your students. As you think about this please email me one suggestion that you may use so that I can put that in a document to
share with the staff, you will remain anonymous. The one thing
that we have total control over is our graduation rate. I truly believe that some of our students graduate because of a great relationship they have with one of you. Thank you again for a great
