    We had a fabulous week in fourth grade! The students have been working on getting used to our new schedule and switching for our classes. The transition from 3rd grade to 4th grade can be difficult for some, but we are all doing a pretty awesome job so far! On Thursday we had our first fire drill. The fourth grade students did a wonderful job!

    Notes from the teachers


    The two words I want my Math and Reading kids to focus on this year are: HIGH EXPECTATIONS. I expect a lot out of our students and they should do the same! Have confidence that each one of you can be a high achieving student. We will work hard but have a lot of fun as well. Thanks for a great start! We had an awesome week in my math and reading classes! I am looking forward to the rest of the year! In language this year, we will be doing a TON of writing! We have started by journaling and learning about sentences this week. I am looking forward to seeing how creative we can be!

    My name is Mr. Mettling. I am one of the new faces in the elementary school this year. I have spent the past four years teaching 3rd grade in Ellsworth, MN. I grew up in Pine City and have family and friends in the area. I will be teaching science to all the 4th graders. I also see students from the other two 4th grade rooms for math and reading. If you have any questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to call. I am coaching football this fall and will be coaching basketball this winter. The best time to get ahold of me here at school is in the mornings before school from 7:45-8:10. I also have time from 1:40-2:30 in the afternoon. I am looking forward to a great year.
