AUGUST 2016
Bradburns Tidbits
Happy last few weeks of the summer everyone! I hope you
have been able to enjoy your vacation and
are getting at least a little eager to get
back to school and start 4th grade. I am
looking forward to getting to know more
about you and your family. Well be
learning lots of new things together.
Fourth grade will be a bit more
challenging for you, and your responsibilities will increase, but
I know you are ready for it!
As you learned last spring, I will be starting my 35th year of
teaching. I dont know how thats quite possible seeing that I
am only 21 (wink, wink)! I graduated from the University of
Maine and have a Masters Degree in
Education from the University of New
England. Over the years I have taught
grades 3-5 and graduate classes for USM
and UNE.
I live in York with my husband Stacy.
My husband is a high school teacher at
Noble High School and coaches football
for York High School. I have 2 sons Sean
and Stacy.. Sean is married and just moved back from Florida
with his wife Mirka, and my 2 grandchildren Sofia (3) and Tomi
(1 1/2) They moved in with us, so I am now getting use to sticky
floors, changing diapers, and having tea parties! Seans wife,
Mirkoslava, is from Slovakia. Her
parents have just arrived for a 2 week
visit! My Slovakian isnt very good, so
I depend on Sofi to translate!
This summer, my younger son,
Stacy got married to Ashley in July!
So we spent the beginning of the
summer getting ready for the big day! Everything went
perfect, and it was great to get the whole family back in
town for this happy occasion.

Calendar
Besides having family visit throughout
the summer, I also had a chance to
attend a math conference in Chicago. I
learned a lot at the University of Chicago
and cant wait to try some new things in
our class this year! I love teaching,
especially math, so this was a great
experience. Other than that, Ive been
working with students 3 days a week,
gardening, and enjoying my time with
Sofi and Tomi!
What else??? I have a chocolate lab, Koko, who is a real sweetie.
Unfortunately, her best dog friend, Roxie, moved
away last year, so she tends to scout out the
neighborhood trying to make new friends!
As you know.I love sports and am a huge
Patriots and Red Sox fan! I also love to read, go
for long walks, eat chocolate chip cookies and
McDonalds fries, garden, clean the bathroom (just
kidding), and learn new things from other
teachers. But most of all I just love teaching, being
a mom and nana, and enjoying life!
Send me a letter before school starts if you get a chance.
P.S. Please give the enclosed survey to your parents.
Check out some of the activities Ive included to help get
back into the swing of things! These are totally optional!

Informal Open House: I would love to see you and meet
your parents before school starts. I will be working in my
