Nan working on a very intricate picture.

Well done Nan!

As you know, Jean continues to develop our art

work as we have been finding it both therapeutic
and enjoyable. Some of the very generous
donation we received from the members of the
local art classes who held their exhibition in our
halls, will help fund this project.

Albert School, Springburn, Prefects

Do you recognise anyone in the photo. Margaret was a school prefect and is
in the front row, left. She really hasn't changed much.
Do you have an old school photo - or any other photo- that you would like to
share with us?

Members of the Scottish Association of Flower arrangers came

from all over Scotland to decorated Glasgow Cathedral for the
opening Service of Thanksgiving of the Commonwealth Games
last year, and part of Mearns and Whitecraigs Clubs remit was to
make a floral Bible.
Mrs Jo Baillie made the bible. She covered it in trimmed dried
honesty to give the appearance of Vellum. The edges were covered
using preserved eucalyptus leaves, Statice for the outer border, text
and illuminated letters, and added forget-me-not, coriander seeds,
fern-leaf dill and cereal seeds. Gold paint was used to provide
detail.
A crystal chain was added, with an interlacing ribbon bookmark.
