My Dream Masters in Automation

The reason for my Application to pursue my Masters in

Automation and IT from Cologne University of Applied
Sciences would be because of my strong interest in this field
and its application in the business area. I have been working
towards equipping myself for this course right from my
undergraduate program and if given an opportunity I would like
to prove in my course and work towards a Ph.D.
My ultimate goal is to delve deep into research which
would provide practical solutions to the ever rising
complication. I feel that my endeavour would be incomplete
until I achieve my objectives in research. As opportunities to do
advanced research are limited in my country, I have made up
my mind to pursue higher studies in Germany.
My Personality:
I have shown outstanding performance in my Bachelors
degree (85%) as well as secondary education (95%) and
also have dedication to the field of study. I am self-reliant
person from the under graduate studies who follows own path
into the world of research. My dedication, extraordinary
intellectual abilities, willingness to become a part of the
university community and the willingness to learn German. I am
sure that I possess the qualities of working hard and being
perseverant in addition to intellectual ability and rive that are
needed to do justice to study at your university.
My Academic Achievements:
Since my school days, I have been fascinated by the field
of computers and technology. After my schooling, I chose the
specialization as IT because of my strong interest and passion
towards this field. From 4th semester of my UG, I was introduced
to Information Security, Mobile communication, Web
Technology and Service oriented Architecture as
subjects in our curriculum and I was very keen on learning
more about the field.
My best source of inspiration was my mother who made
me feel self-confident and suave in manners. I passed my
secondary and higher secondary examinations with distinction
and secured school first with 95%.I was among the top 7% of

the 100,000 students who appeared for the engineering

entrance examination. I performed good consistently in all
theory, practical and projects in my course work and have a
CGPA of 8.42 on Scale 10 (85%).
To affirm myself with an all-round exposure and to apply
what I have learnt theoretically, I have done my undergraduate
project AUTONOMOUS INVENTION OF DIRECTION AND
NODE IN A CLUSTERED FEELER SYSTEM, where sensor
employs a simple protocol in a coordinate effort to reduce
power consumption without increasing the time required to
detect hidden sensors. Finally we simulate this environment in
a network. Based on my good approach in the first project, I
was also chosen by my Head of the department to do the
project based on Biometrics- CURVED-REGION-BASED RIDGE
FREQUENCY ESTIMATION AND CURVED GABOR FILTERS FOR
FINGERPRINT IMAGE ENHANCEMENT, in which fingerprints are

matched using minutia features. An improved Gabor filtering

for fingerprint image enhancement technology is proposed.
Extra-curricular Activities:
Besides the academics, I was a very active student in all
my college events. I believe extracurricular activities along with
the academics plays a huge role in defining what kind of person
you are, as part of it, I have been practising Traditional Indian
Dance for years and participated in several competitions since
my school days. Being a passionate dancer I have participated
in all school, college and company cultural events and fests. I
have also been held many positions of responsibilities and was
always an integral part of all significant college events. I used
to be presenting as a host for many formal functions of my
college which was attended by important dignitaries. This was
made a possibility due to my excellent management and
communication skills.
Training and Work Experience:
After my undergraduate education, I found the need of
practical experience in the IT field to equip and prepare myself
for this course. In order to gain experience and understand the
business process in the IT field, I proceeded to accept Job offer
in my Campus before pursuing the graduate program. I was one
among the 14 students recruited from my department by

Infosys, a global fortune 500 companies, which

demonstrates my overall aptitude. A rigorous technical training
on computing concepts and Database Systems has made
thoroughly conversant in these areas. I scored a CGPA of 4.5
on a scale of 5, which added me to the top performer salary
band for a fresher.
As a System Engineer, I have a project experience of
around two years with a reputed German Pharmaceutical
Company Merck MSD on behalf of Infosys Technologies,
India. My expertise here is in Web Hosting, Middleware
technologies and was also responsible in handling incident
and problem management. I have been consulting Merck with
my project based on an offshore and onshore operating model
which requires close interaction with the Merck Officials
throughout the world which helped me gain new insights into
the International work culture.
My Dream:
With all that I learnt from my Under Graduation course and
work experience, my thirst for exploring about technologies has
only been accruing further. With this motivation and my
penchant I would like to pursue my Post Graduation in the same
field. I believe that I possess the motivation, the intellectual
ability, and the preparation to set out on this exhilarating
and arduous path. It is my belief that a higher degree from an
esteemed university like yours will prepare me for the
challenges of the rapidly evolving computer industry.Moreover,
Cologne University is one of the leading universities for science
and research and I would be proud to be a part of such a
prestigious Institution.I therefore look forward to being part of
the student community at Cologne University.
