Dr.

Noah Gunner is a scientist who seeks for answers to questions still

unsolved by science. He is a visionary. He dreamt of a free world where there
is no sexists or racists, no plagues or scarcity, no death.
Year 3030. The world as we know it is no more. Noah awakes from a deep
sleep and noticed that he is in an unfamiliar room.
Hi Mr. Gunner, a weird looking man dressed on what he deemed as a lab
gown greets him.
Hello, erm... Wouldn't you mind telling me why I am here? And why am I
pinned on this bed? He only noticed that when he attempts to stand.
There must be some miscalculations on the installation of your memory chip,
Mr. Gunner. The man answered in a bland tone which reminds him of the
voices of virtual assistants on sci-fi films.
We can have that adjusted at your request.
Now that you said that, I feel pain from the back of my head. Maybe we can
proceed on your stuff later. He replied.
Can I get off from this bed now? Noah ended.
As you wish Mr. Gunner. The weird guy pressed a button and Noah was
unpinned from the bed.
Thank you Mr. ... You haven't tell me your name yet.
They call all of my kin Doctor. Just Doctor. The man answered.
It appeared to Noah that he is in a hospital and the weird guy he's talking to
is some kind of an AI which is programmed to be a doctor. He went outside of
the room, walked and amazed at what he saw.
The wholeness of the building is so wide that the room he came from only
looked like a grain of sand. Everything is colored white. He continued walking
and noticed that many people in that building looks like Doctor; dressed,
moves, and speaks the same. The others are ladies of the same appearance
which appeared to him as nurse aides. Few are like him that are dressed in
plain yellow clothes which smells strange and kinda heavy.
The hallway he's pacing ended in an open room. The inside of which looks
like a supercomputer.

Commencing face verification. A robot voice echoed throughout the room as

he entered.
Face verification complete. Finishing identification... The back of his head felt
pain after the voice said those.
Hi Mr. Noah Gunner. Welcome to the Memory Bank. This room is my actuality
and you can call me Iris. He was stunned at how the virtual voice speaks and
seems conversant.
The doctor told me that my memory chip is having some lapses. Can you
please tell me about this era? He is indeed clueless but also can't help but
test at how intelligent this Iris can be.
Noah learned that he was one of the fortunate few who have survived
apparent apocalypse when an asteroid the size of the moon collide with the
Earth head-on. His knowledge allowed him to be selected and kept inside life
supporting capsules together with the planet's greatest men and women.
Iris told him that he was one among the brains that built the Neo-Earth. A
utopia where there is no death, famine, and everyone is equal. They filled
the population slowly through cloning. Therefore things like gender, children,
and family are no more. Education and memory are chips installed on the
back of their heads. Fashion are clothes made from asbestos for it can last
forever. Food comes in capsule or tubes. Life on Neo-Earth is only working
and working is living.
Thank you Iris. Tears ran down on Noah's face as he said that.
Tears, are liquid secreted from the human eyes. Sign of strong emotion. Iris
recommends you consult a doctor and have your chip reprogrammed Mr.
Gunner.
No, thanks. Noah replied.
As Noah leave the Memory Bank, he realized that while he achieved his
dreams, he lost his loved ones to the Apocalypse. It came to him that while
man progresses with technology, things like family and love are left behind.
Visions of his wife and son flashed in his mind and he felt excruciating pain
from the back of his head.
Dad? Dad wake up! Dad! Noah woke up to the voice of his son.
You seemed to be having a bad dream honey. His wife said.

Yeah, I had a nightmare actually. He replied and hugged his wife, then his
son.
He is Noah Gunner, a scientist. But also a loving husband, and a father. He
dreamt of a perfect world to live in. But now, he's awake.#
