FOREIGN LANGUAGE IS PROVISION FOR THE FUTURE

Have you ever studied a foreign language at the time of kindergarten? If never, when
you get your foreign language lessons? Whether at elementary, junior high, or high school? If
you get a foreign language lessons in elementary school, it is not a bad early chance to start
learning a foreign language. But it is better if you get a foreign language lesson at the time of
kindergarten. Why? , because it is very good to start a foreign language, in addition to the
earlier you know the basics and the basis of a foreign language. Besides that, if earlier you
know a foreign language, you will have long time to develop your ability in mastering foreign
language. Do you know the use of a foreign language is important in this era of
globalization? The answer is very important, especially for the area of tourism, we can
increase quality of human resources like, improve the quality of their language by introducing
foreign language from an early age by using appropriate method. What is the other benefit
when we learning foreign language? The other benefit are facilitate getting work or study
abroad, and there are so many benefits that we can find if we can mastering a foreign
language.
To be able to use a foreign language appropriately, we need a fairly long process,
because there are many important things that we must learn. For example, the use of the
English language, which is used internationally, is the main capital for us who work in the
tourism area. We need so many times to master English language like, to know the grammar,
vocabularies, and etc. It is claimed that English language should be introduced as early as
possible, runs smoothly. English learning can start from kindergarten. Teaching these at the
early age would prepare young children a good foundation. Advances in technology and
facilities can help children to learn a foreign language. As we know, in this time many
kindergartens are already implementing English learning. Direct method is a method of
language learning that is often encountered in the environment of kindergarten. According to
Charles Berlitz, the Direct Method is learning a second language by imitating the way
children learn their first language, immediately and without explanation of grammar points
and using only the target language. Therefore, grammar is taught inductively. The vocabulary
is introduced in context and through demonstrations, like using songs, pictures, and etc.
In the era of globalization, a foreign language is very useful for our lives, especially
for people who live in the area of tourism, such as in Bali. When we work in the tourism area,
the used of foreign languages really support it. Foreign languages are also very useful for

enhancing the quality of human resources in the tourism area. In addition they also sell
souvenirs, they can use a foreign language to foreigners who want to buy souvenirs. We can
see an example like in the area of Kuta, there are many people who dont have strong
foundation about foreign language. But the people there, learning a foreign language through
selling souvenirs and they indirectly learn a foreign language with a foreigner who wants to
buy souvenirs. Maybe they've been able to use a foreign language there and speak foreign
language, although their foreign language is not appropriately. It takes a long time to learn a
foreign language to the community. Therefore, a foreign language is very important if applied
since kindergarten. The foreign language will be a provision for them when they are
communicating with foreigner. so foreign language is very important to increase the quality
of human resources.
English is the international language that is widely used throughout in the world.
When asked about the benefits of learning of English language, we can find so many benefits
that useful for us, especially the Language that we have learned since kindergarten. Because
English language is the most crucial communication tool, English Language is very
dominating all aspects of communication. Most of countries in Asia also use English as
Medium of Instruction or make the English as a second language after their national
language like in Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia. Besides for the international
communication, the other benefit of English language is to simplify to find a job. The world
of work will be tempted by people who are good at English language. English language skills
will certainly provide added value to prospective job applicants, they will be viewed in the
competitive world of work. So with English language we can easily to find a good job. There
are so many institutions that provide Golden Opportunity to study abroad scholarships for
Indonesian students. For Indonesian students who want to study abroad, they must have the
ability to speak English; in addition to English language skills possessed one other
requirement that must join the TOEFL test. This test measures how your skill in English.
Surely we must be proficient in English in order to pass this test. For those student who want
to study abroad, must be proficient in foreign language, especially English. So it is important
to get a foreign language since kindergarten.
We can conclude that the foreign language such as English is very important and also
very beneficial in our lives, for examples like; increase quality of human resources. Human
resources can be qualified if we have learned foreign language thoroughly. It will greatly
affect when we can use foreign language to communicate, like particularly communities who

live in the area of tourism. The community can sell their souvenirs to foreigners. While they
selling souvenirs, the community can learn a foreign language indirectly. We also can easy to
get a job, and easy to get scholarship for study abroad if we can master in foreign language.
If we dont have a good foundation in language, our language will not good enough. To
develop our ability in using foreign language, we should get more education as early as
possible, like introduce English language in kindergarten. The earlier we teach it, the better it
will be in the master of language.
