Achieving an advanced English level is always a priority for students to pursue a

compulsory language so that they can obtain a bright future. Nowadays with vast
amounts of learning methods and English centers to serve the huge demand for
learners, sometimes makes them confused about which one is the most suitable
studying path for them. Besides selections the best courses to learn, some people have
said you should learn English with a Native English teacher rather than a non-native
English teacher to achieve success. From my point of view, I don’t agree with that
idea due to knowledge proficiency and long-term financial pursuit.

One of the greatest advantages a non-native English teacher provides for students is
knowledge competency. Qualified English teachers nowadays are equipped well with
degrees and knowledge to teach students with the best learning methods. It is easy to
understand a non-native speaker has to study very hard to become a teacher. Most
Vietnamese English teachers have to be examined in multiple complicated tests to
update themselves with knowledge. There is no doubt about their English
comprehension compared to any foreign English teacher. Furthermore, they have to
spend a long study path as students to achieve the highest fluency so they could
completely understand the obstacles that students encounter. Additionally, they could
speak their mother tongue to explain to the learner thoroughly what difficulties they
had in the lessons. At a very early stage of learning a new language, students don’t
have enough vocabulary to comprehend assiduously what teachers have said.  A
person who can fully deliver ideas for learners is extremely necessary for them to
build a basic foundation of a language. In short, studying with a non-native speaker
could prepare the student with adequate knowledge due to their capability of speaking
as bilingual speakers.

Another drawback of learning with a native English teacher is financial issues.

Studying a language is long-term progress that lasts for years, so it's not affordable for
learners to always be taught by native speakers. The average price to study with a
native speaker is extremely expensive compared to local teachers. Not every student
can purchase these learning methods unless they could spend themselves living in a
foreign environment. For example, a Vietnamese student with an average income has
to spend at least 1000 USD per month to pay for the foreign teacher which is an
insane number. If that person participates in this kind of education for years, it would
drink up all money merely to study a language which is un logically investment. On
the other hand, he could spend that money on multiple courses to improve himself
effectively. Most learners study English with non-native English teachers but they still
could be successful in speaking this language. In brief, studying with local teachers
could save a lot of money and receive similar result with native mentors. 

On the flip side, some people are afraid that studying with a non-native speaker may
not be able to deliver the best accent. It would be understandable because many
learners have the ambition to speak like a native speaker. However, the accent is not
everything to decide if a speaker is as successful as English or not. Many learners in
the world who are not living in native speaker countries are outstanding at performing
an excellent speech. They may not obtain a perfect accent but they have the color and
rhythm of their speech which is attractive and inspiring. As a result, the abundance of
shades and dialects of speaking English is one of many intriguing factors that
contribute to a multiple-speaking English community. Studying English effectively is
not only copying a one-way style of communication but having the qualification to
effortlessly deliver our ideas with unique characteristics. In brief, a person who could
easily transport their words confidently with their characteristics is considered a
successful learner. 

In conclusion, studying with a non-native speaker can fully equip students with
knowledge productively in a long-term procedure. Aiming at speaking English
fluently is a desirable target for any learner. But there are multiple study paths for
students to choose to purchase. Not only studying with a native English speaker could
lead to success. In my opinion, students nowadays could combine many methods as
well as follow different teachers to accomplish the best result of the long journey in
learning English.
