Origin
The origin of word" Gadget" dates
back to 19th century. In oxford English
dictionary it is referred to as a place
holder name for a technical items
whose precise name one can't
remember. Early use of word gadget is
also reported in the book by Robert
Brown "spunyar and spindrift: a sailor
boy's log of a voyage and home in a
china tea-clipper" in 1886.It is also
said that the word gadget has a French
origin and is derived from the word
gachette which used for denoting the
different tool of firing or French gagee (a small accessory).

1. Rollkers
Rollkers is an innovative product that stands to revolutionize the way we walk. Users simply
affix Rollkers to the bottom of their shoes and gain the immediate ability to reach speeds up to
seven miles per hour simply by walking or strolling normally.
It is the world's first electronic "under shoes." What that means is they're a personal
transportation device that consists of motorized wheels that attach to our soles, allowing us to
walk faster.
"It's for everybody who has to walk long distance.

Electronic Gadgets

Wearing Rollkers is kind of like constantly having a travelator at the bottom of your feet.
"It's a system we can walk onto, but Rollkers move, we have no loss of balance. You walk, but
you get speed like a travelator."
It may actually be more efficient to wear Rollkers all the time than if every surface you walked
on was a travelator, we can move twice as fast wearing Rollkers as we can walking on a
travelator . I've got semi-bad news for you. You can't buy Rollkers in stores just yet. The product
is currently in the first-level prototype phase, and the company is currently looking for partners
to license the product. We may be seeing Rollkers in the market in about a year or two.

2. Google Glass

Electronic Gadgets

Google Glass is a type of wearable technology with an optical head-mounted display. It

was developed by Google with the mission of producing a mass-market ubiquitous
computer. Google Glass displays information in a smart phone-like hands-free format.
The most discreet button is tucked away on the inside on the touchpad and near the
temple. Giving it a light press turns Google Glass on and powers up the all-important
apps.
Like a modern smart phone, there are few physical buttons and ports on Google Glass.
That's because most of the interaction is done via a long 3.25-inch touchpad on the right
side. Underneath the touchpad is a micro USB port for charging the device and on the top
is a camera button that's great for quick snaps in noisy environments.
Everyone's attention is also immediately drawn to the adjacent cube-shaped glass prism
that sits above the right eye. It has an acceptable 640 x 360 resolution and hangs just out
of the way of the wearer's line of sight. For the wearer, this personalized display acts as a
much bigger screen, one that's equivalent to a 25-inch HDTV sitting eight feet away.
Google has continued to make the complicated ownership decision easier by adding more
to its Explorer Edition heads-up display..
Google has even been throwing in a free pair of frames or premium shades with all new
orders. New apps and updates to the linear operating system make the current Google
Glass Explorer Edition unique.
The Google Glass dimensions are 5.25-inches at its widest point and 8-inches at its
longest point.

Features

Electronic Gadgets

Touchpad: A touchpad is located on the side of Google Glass, allowing users to

control the device by swiping through a timeline-like interface displayed on the
screen. Sliding backward shows current events, such as weather, and sliding forward
shows past events, such as phone calls, photos, circle updates, etc.
Camera: Google Glass has the ability to take photos and record 720p HD video.
Display: The Explorer version of Google Glass uses a liquid crystal on
silicon (LCoS) (based on an LCoS chip from Himax), field-sequential color
system, LED illuminated display. The display's LED illumination is first P-polarized
and then shines through the in-coupling polarizing beam splitter (PBS) to the LCoS
panel. The panel reflects the light and alters it to S-polarization at active pixel
sensor sites.
The in-coupling PBS then reflects the S-polarized areas of light at 45 through the
out-coupling beam splitter to a collimating reflector at the other end. Finally, the outcoupling beam splitter (which is a partially reflecting mirror, not a polarizing beam
splitter) reflects the collimated light another 45 and into the wearer's eye.
Voice command
Other than the touchpad, Google Glass can be controlled using "voice actions". To
activate Glass, wearers tilt their heads 30 upward (which can be altered for preference)
or tap the touchpad, and say "O.K., Glass." Once Glass is activated, wearers can say an
action, such as "Take a picture", "Record a video", "Hangout with [person/Google+
circle.
For search results that are read back to the user, the voice response is relayed using bone
conduction through a transducer that sits beside the ear, thereby rendering the sound
almost inaudible to other people.

The apple watch screen is surrounded by casing of stainless steel, aluminum or gold.
What does Apple Watch actually do?
Apple's first wearable gadget beams messages, Facebook updates.
It can also work without an iPhone for select apps, including Apple Pay, Passbook flight
check-ins, listening to music during a run and tracking fitness metrics and for telling the
time accurately too.
Its 8GB of storage with restrictions limit the amount of photos and music that can be
stored directly on the smart watch, but it's double the space of 4GB Android Wear
watches.
Especially convenient to pocket.
Apple Watch makes everyday notifications easy to dismiss while keeping you in the loop
with important alerts.

inductive wireless charging solution similar to the Mag Safe design.
Easy to connect like a Mag Safe power adapter.
It has the popular Qi wireless charging method - in favor of its own inductive charging
standard.
Is Apple Watch waterproof?

The timepiece is water resistant.
