Real Life Case Story:

- Today I have received a posting letter from head office


- Really, Rehan (not the original name)? Its good. Wish I could do that. You got it because
you are a good employee. You know better about the technical problems in any system. For
that reason you get promotion with posting. But I think it will not be bad. Your salary will be
higher, and its really good.
- But I have to set up some thing. I could not think I can manage it easily.
After office time he goes to take his children from the school. His child read in class six and
he likes his school very much. He always talks about his school friend. Today he was talking
about a school picnic in his school. But father could not give any answer.
Mrs. Rehan works in Rahima Afrooz as an assistant manager. She likes her job very much
because his boss is very much flexible and he understands him well. After hearing about his
posting she was shocked. She just says how it will be possible that we will shift to Barisal?
Rehan could not convince his wife that he got better position with good salary; just they have
to shift from here. He knows that it is quite impossible but he could not want to leave that
opportunity.
His wife just worried about that. Because she likes her job as well as she thinks about her
children future. She does not like to give break to her carrier. She thinks about many things
and does not like this posting.
Mr. Rehan a good and loyal employee for the organization. he gives lots of talent and time to
his job. Last year he got a promotion because of his unbelievable good work. This year some
environmental problems GrameenPhone wants that he will go to Barisal and can handle that
technical problem. GrameenPhone knows that it is a very tough decision for an employee to
shift from one place to another. For that reason HRD gives order with nice salary and in
better position so that he will be motivated to shift their.

On the other hand Mr. Rehan could not take decision because he signed up an agreement
where he agreed upon that he will accept any type of posting with out any objection
otherwise he will be terminated from his job. Now he is in a dilemma that he will leave the
job or will go for posting with better position.
He talks with the HRD about his problem. HRD gives him one month to think about this
matter. HRD gives him some option to think about it but if he have to loose his promotion if
he could not go with posting.

Here company wants to motivate employee through giving compensation but may be its
drawback comes negative, because he falls under mental pressure and dilemma instead of
motivation.
We think two types of decision Mr. Rehan can take: One Solution: He can take the promotion but his family may not be happy with that.
Second Solution: He can refuse the promotion and may continue the same job. But
may be he may falls under frustration. Which will brings bad output for the company as
well as for him.
Third Solution: He can switch his job to other company with better salary and
position.
Through this we understand that we can take a horse to the water but we could not force the
horse to drink that water. So we have to motivate our employee based on their needs and
wants.
