With this international program to success we really hope that fanciers from abroad will take advantage
of our products. Many fanciers from all over the world contacted us in the past by telephone or in
writing (e-mail or fax) for more detailed information on specific problems concerning pigeon racing and
breeding.

General information
Since 1972, Dr. De Weerd has specialized himself in the clinical requirements of racing pigeons and has
mirrored such a wealth of knowledge onto the elite team of eight full-time specialists who are employed
at his clinic in Breda.
This unmatched wealth of knowledge is freely extended to the scores of fanciers who contact the office
on a daily basis from every corner of this pigeon populated world that we live in. On top of this many
famous fanciers privately seek consultations with Dr. Henk de Weerd at his clinic about a vast amount
of pigeon related subjects including therapies, prevention of diseases, techniques in the sport, loft
construction and design, breeding programs, advice on feeding and more importantly how to maintain
the ultimate health and condition in their pigeons. Figures reveal that over 50.000 regular customers
place their faith and trust in the famous practice of Belgica de Weerd and this number of customers
continues to rise internationally on a daily basis.
As a young boy Dr. De Weerd visited many top lofts in Belgium and Holland with his famous father Piet
de Weerd. Subsequently they visited Germany, U.S.A., Canada, U.K., Mexico,Thailand,Taiwan, Poland,
Spain, Portugal, Japan, China, etc.Thousands of fanciers have attended the lectures given by Piet de Weerd
and his son Dr. De Weerd on topics such as selection and pigeon diseases.

Piet de Weerd & Interpalomas Lofts

During a period of over 60 years, Piet de Weerd achieved worldwide acknowledgement
due to his manner in selecting and pairing the best and most valuable pigeons in the world.
His name is known in the furthest corners of the globe and many, serious fanciers read his articles and
books.These are written in his own down-to-earth characteristic manner. Invitations from all over the
world have made him the worlds most widely travelled pigeon fancier.
Back in the sixties he not only travelled numerous times across the Atlantic to the Americas but also
to South Africa and to the Far East. He established conclusive proof of his unequalled mastery directly
after world war II during the period that Jan Aarden tried to build up an iron strain for the toughest
overnight races.
The absolute first mother of the strain, the Oomens-duivin (H45-907764) and also called by Aarden
the Delbar duivin, was in fact a present from De Weerd to Jan Aarden. On the numerous occasions
that Piet visited Aarden, he brought one or more pigeons with him to cross them with the stockbirds
at Steenbergen. So we may say he is the architect of the Aarden strain. Purchases and pairings of top
pigeons by Piet de Weerd, which made his name in international pigeon sport invaluable, were amongst
other things: the purchase of the miraculous Wondervoske from the Janssen Brothers for the tandem
Oomens-Van Tuijn; the pairing of the Franck
(44-306686) at Heroine (47-1008650) on the loft of
George Fabry: Porthos and the Favorie, descendants
of this pair made the name of Fabry world famous.
Also the transfer of the Piet (strain Meulemans) to
Raymand Hermes in Germany was a bullseye and in
South Africa, fanciers are to this day talking about the
incredible breeding results of the Stallion Jan Aarden,
imported by Piet de Weerd and Piets magical use of
the Cauwenberg pigeon that became world famous.
The famous Didi line of Jef v.d. Broucke-de Weerd
and later Etienne de Vos (kleine Didi) was the result
of many years of selection and inbreeding by Piet
de Weerd. Also the Kipp Dynasty of Althornbach
(Germany) is based on Piet de Weerd pigeons, originally
the lines of Hector de Bou, Kees de Groot (Jan Aarden)
and Albert v. Cauwenbergh (Janssen).

Belgasol
Product Description:
Belgasol is a unique combination of electrolytes, vitamins, trace-elements and amino acids on a energy
carrying base.This product improves the rehydration at high speed.The effects are better and more
speedy than with normal electrolytes
Instructions:
Breeding season - for strong, well growing youngsters from 1 week old: 5 days
consecutive, 25 ml per litre of water.
Condition builder: Also to be used against thirst and
exhaustion.The day of basketing 30 ml per litre of water.
Faster recuperation after the race: 30 ml per litre of water
directly after homing. Can also be used in combination with
B.S.: 1 sachet or 2 measuring spoons per 2 litres of water*
Available in bottles of 250, 500 and 1000 ml.

ParaStop
Against paratyphoid (Salmonellosis): this prevents as well as cures. Also outstanding against E-Coli
and a-specific intestinal infections.This combi-drug has proved itself to be extremely reliable for
over 20 years.
Instructions:
Sachet: Therapeutic 10-14 days consecutive: 1 sachet for
2 litres of water or 1 sachet mixed with 1 kilogram of grains.
Container: 3 measure spoons per 2 litres of water or
2 measure spoons per 1 kilogram of grains*, 8-14 days consecutive.
Can also be mixed with Belgasol: Give the infected pigeons
the first 5 days twice a day 1 Para tablet extra.
Preventive:
At the end of the moulting and before breeding
period. Also often used a few weeks before the start
of the racing season. A 8-day treatment is sufficient.

B.S. (B.S. better digestion)

Product description:
B.S. is a golden combination of active substances used worldwide with enormous success
and in the meantime a household word.The special aluminium packing secures an exact dosage,
optimal quality and is non-perishable. The effects of B.S. are preserved also after years of use.
Instructions sachet:
During breeding season on eggs: 14 days before mating or when they sit on eggs, 6 days consecutive 1
sachet for 2 litres of water or 1 sachet mixed with 1 kilogram of grains.*
After homing: 1,5 day 1 sachet per 2 litres of water or mixed with 1 kilogram of grains.*
Instructions container:
During breeding season on eggs:14 days before mating or when sitting on eggs, 6 days consecutive 3

Belga Biovit
Belga Biovit is a quality mixture of liquid minerals, vitamins and amino-acids in the correct
proportions to ensure a top class moult and extra bloom and condition of the new feathers.
Instructions:
Start of the main moult 1 week consecutive:
15ml per 1 litre of water followed by once or
twice per week 15ml per 1 litre of water.
Can also be used during the races as a conditioner.
Also suitable for nest-youngsters for the growth of
strong plumage. Can also be mixed with Belgasol.

Belgarlic + Vit.E
High-quality garlic oil with a high percentage of vitamin E. This product stands for:
- purifying the blood
- improvement of the breeding results with positive effects in case of disorder of the fertility
- improving the digestion and removing waste products from the pigeons body
- anti-oxidant activity
Instructions:
1 or 2 times a week 20 ml
per 1 to 1,5 kilogram of grains.
Available in bottles of 250 ml and 500 ml.
W.N. Black
W.N. is a conditioner and also preventive against minor ornithosis-infections of the upper

A liquid preparation in case of lack of condition due to dirty noses, wet eyes,
watery (green yellow) droppings from young and old pigeons.
Instructions:
During 1 - 4 days 2,5 ml (1 cap) per litre of water
or 1 drop per pigeon in the beak 2 x daily.
Preventive:
Can also be given a few days before basketing.
Available in bottles of 50 ml.
4 in 1 Mix
The super combination remedy with spectacular results in case of Adenocoli syndrome and watery
droppings due to former PMV-infections.

Ornistop Tablets

Disinfection of the eyes mucous membranes, the lacrymal
canal and the mucous membranes of the nose in case of

Curative: during 3-4 days several times a

Succesful top-class sport demands for a reinforcement of the immune system of the racing pigeon.
This is achieved with Belga Super Fit, a condition-mix based on vitamins, electrolytes, trace-elements,
amino-acids, dextrose and brewers yeast.

Breeding Program
Before breeding
A few weeks before mating one has to check the droppings of the pigeons
for worms, coccidiosis and paratyphoid.
- In case of worms we advise you to give BelgaWormac.
- In case of coccidiosis, trichomoniasis and hexamitiasis you give B.S..
- In case of paratyphoid and E.coli you give ParaStop.
The medicines mentioned are absolutely safe, and will not cause vomiting
or feather damage.They are also available as pills for individual treatment.
Instructions BelgaWormac
Consecutive 2 days 2 measure spoons per 1 litre water or one time 1 tablet per pigeon. After
deworming one is advised to flame out the loft. Keep in mind that to work safe and effective you
first have to moisten the loft. Do not give BelgaWormac on the grain.
Instructions B.S.
1 week before mating, you can give the pigeons B.S.: 3 days consecutive 1 sachet per 2 litres of
water or 1 sachet per 1 kilograms of grains.* B.S. is also available in tablets.
Instructions ParaStop
Preventive: from the end of the moulting season up to the
breeding season: to eliminate as much as possible carriers
and excretes 8 10 days consecutive, 1 sachet per 2 litres of water
or 1 sachet per 1 kilogram of grains.*
Curing: 10 - 14 days consecutive, 1 sachet per
2 litres of water or 1 sachet per 1,5 kilogram of
grains.*
Parastop is also available in tablets.
Note: when your pigeons do not drink much (in autumn
and winter) you can better mix Parastop over the
grains.

Breeding Program
During the breeding season

After laying eggs 6 days consecutive B.S.: 1 sachet per 2 litres of water or 1 sachet per kilogram of
grains.* This works preventive against canker (tricho), coccidiosis, hexamitiasis and some bacterial
infections of crop and intestinals.
One day every week BelgaBion: 1 sachet per 3 litres of water or 1 sachet for 1,5 kilogram of grains.*
As soon as the squeakers are 1 week old Belgasol is given: 5 days consecutive, 15 ml per 1 litre of water.
They grow better and become stronger with Belgasol. Belgasol is a combination of electrolytes with vitamines,
trace- elements and amino acids. Belgasol enables optimal hydration in the pigeons muscle (when using, dont
remove grit and minerals from loft).
During race season:

Growing up / during racing
The Paramyxo vaccin is to be given preferably when the pigeons are 5 weeks old.
Squabs that are weaned get a B.S.-treatment of 6 days consecutive. 1 sachet per 2 litres of water or
1 kilogram of grains.* Furthermore we recommend to give B.S. once a month 4-5 days consecutive.
Around 10 days to the training flights they will receive another B.S.- treatment for 5 days consecutive.

Moulting program
For constant health and a permanent fall of down our Moultingpackage can be of a great importance.
A good moult in the autumn is the basis for optimal results the next year. In case of any suspicion of
Paratyphoid (Salmonellosis) also called leg or wing illness, one is recommended to cure the pigeons
10 to 14 days consecutive with ParaStop: 1 sachet per 2 litres of water or 1 kgs of grain. In case of this
illness in the surrounding area of your loft we advise you to treat for 8-10 days consecutive with ParaStop
(preventive).
Moulting program:
- At the beginning of the moulting season 1 week consecutive Belga Biovit: 15 ml per 2 litres of water

Paratyphoid

ParaStop is an unique combination against paratyphoid (salmonellosis) and E-Coli infections.
ParaStop prevents arising resistance as much as possible. ParaStop can be given even during the
moult and with newly-hatched squeakers and on mating. If you suspect your pigeons of showing signs of
paratyphoid we advise you to quarantine the birds immediately and disinfect the lofts, preferably with
a gastorch (for safety moisten the loft with water before).These measures are necessary to prevent
further infections.

Treatment
All pigeons 10 to 14 days consecutive with ParaStop: 1 sachet per 2 litres of water or 1 kilogram of
grains.*
The infected pigeons (quarantine) during the first 5 days also administer with Paratablets 2x daily
1 tablet; Following this treatment 2 days consecutive BelgaBion: 1 sachet per 3 litres of water or
1,5 kilogram of grains.*
Necessary conditions to achieve maximum results are:

- White wattles and clear skin
- Pink throats without slime
- Silky feathers and well defined smooth heads
- Dry droppings with a few small down feathers
Ornithosis Complex
Symptoms
- snot
- picking of feathers
- red throat

- blue flesh
Over 50% of the young pigeons have problems with the ornithosis
complex, followed by a decrease of the training sessions and an
important loss of young birds at the races.Widowers show a decrease
in the desire to fly due the ornithosis complex, poor results at
the races and the moult of the down feathers fails.When these symptoms are noticed after homing,
the pigeons must be treated at once with a special treatment of several days. Severe cases must be
kept at home for the following week to avoid big losses. OrniSpecial, BelgaTai and Ornisol are
combinations of medicines which have outstanding effects in case of the upper respiratory problems.
Simultaneously these products enhance the condition.
Treatment
OrniSpecial or BelgaTai: 2 measure spoons or 1 sachet per 2 litres of water 1 to 4 days consecutive.
Ornisol: 2,5 ml (1 cap) per litre of water or 1 drop twice a day per pigeon in the beak during 1 to
4 days.
Combinations: for a stronger effect in more severe cases to be given 1 - 4 days consecutive.
OrniSpecial + W.N.: 2 measure spoons or 1 sachet OrniSpecial + 1 sachet W.N. per 2 litres of
water.
OrniSpecial + Ornisol: 2 measure spoons or 1 sachet OrniSpecial + 2 caps (5 ml) Ornisol per
2 litres of water.
BelgaTai + Ornisol: 2 measure spoons or 1 sachet BelgaTai + 2 caps (5 ml) Ornisol per 2 litres
of water.

To prevent the risk of re-infection the sanitary conditions in the lofts are very important. In case of
infection one is advised to burn-out with a gas torch the moisted interior of the loft (preferably
moisten the loft first with water). BelgaWormac is the best remedy against hair- and roundworms.
Causes no damage to the feathers and is also completely safe during the breeding and moult season.
Can also be given in the race season. During the cure the pigeons can be fed as usual.
Treatment
Easy to administer via the drinker, 2 measure spoons per 1 litre of water, 2 days consecutive. Comes also
in tablets. 1 tablet per pigeon. BelgaWormac should never be given on the grain.
Adenocoli syndrome

In the last 15 years Adenocoli gets full attention as the biggest threat to young pigeons, with an infection rate
up to 80%. The problem mainly occurs when young pigeons are basketted in large numbers.This means the
period from April until June is most problematic.The disease is caused by contact with infected pigeons their
dropping or vomit. But it can also occur in pigeons that have never been outside

Treatment
We advice giving 4 in1 Mix together with Belgasol (to avoid dehydration) for one week as follows: 1
measure spoon of 4 in1 Mix and 15 ml of Belgasol together in 1 litre of water.
In case there is not a clear response (improvement) after 4 days you should change your medication into
BelgAmco: for 6-10 days 1 measure spoon per 1 litre of water or just consult us for further details.
Trichomoniasis (Canker)
Trichomoniasis (canker) is caused by a flagellate living on the mucous membranes of the
throat and crop. Breaks out at any age, also in nest youngsters. Clinically one can see yellow
spots deep behind in the throat (upwards and sidewards). It is never a loose membrane.
Symptoms

- bad droppings
- crop mucosal inflammation
- complications with ornithosis
- yellow lumps stuck in the back of the throat
In the autumn this can also suddenly
occur in pigeons with a
