Pinterest and Tok&Stok bring Pin It button into the real world
DM9DDB and Pinterest unleash innovative campaign, transforming Brazil's biggest design
furniture store into one great big catalogue of inspiration.

In partnership with Pinterest and Tok&Stok, Brazils biggest design furniture store,
DM9DDB has created an innovative combination of in-store and e-commerce shopping
experiences, by implementing a real-world equivalent of Pinterests Pin It button in
stores. This button introduces a new element into the process of shopping for furniture
and other home-decoration items, and will help facilitate customers purchase
decisions. In addition to being able to touch and measure items in-store, customers can
now use the button to save the items to their Pinterest boards, so that they can serve as
a record for intended future purchases and as a reference for other Pinterest users as
well.
This new, real-world Pin It button in effect transforms Tok&Stok into an enormous
Pinterest bulletin board attuned to the client's preferences. This is a great opportunity
for Tok&Stok which combines the customer's experience in our stores with Pinterest, a
platform built to inspire people, says Flavia Lucena, manager of Communication and
Marketing at Tok&Stok.
The real-world button was developed by DM9DDB and will be attached to items
throughout the store. Consumers with Pinterest accounts simply download the PinList
app, and then once they see an item they like in Tok&Stok, all they have to do press the
physical pin button, which automatically sends an image of the item to their Pinterest
boards. The physical button has an internal circuit with a battery and a BLE (Bluetooth
low energy) board. Once the button is pressed, it transmits a signal to the consumers
phone that publishes the item on the consumers board. The innovation is in the app's
easy and intuitive use and all the technology backing it up, so that you don't have to
leave the app open or pair your cellphone's Bluetooth with the physical button,
explains Igor Puga, VP for Integration and Innovation at DM9DDB.
The PinList app offers benefits to anyone who creates a list of wedding presents, for
example: Consumers can choose furniture pieces in stores, and then pin all the items
they want. A process that is already familiar in the online environment is now available
offline, creating a combined interactive experience.

ideas in Brazil every month. Tok&Stok has been so innovative in combining the process
