All Parish Priests and Religious Superiors in the Diocese:

You all know that since 6 December 2010 our Diocese has been privileged to
adopt in our midst a retired Filipino Curia Cardinal in the person of His Eminence
Jose T. Card. Sanchez who, after his stint as Archbishop of Nueva Segovia in Vigan,
Ilocos Sur, in 1985 was called to serve at the Holy See in the Vatican in various
capacities, first as Secretary for the Evangelization of the People and later as Prefect
of the Congregation for the Clergy.
He has now his quarters at Immaculate Mother School along Commonwealth
Avenue with the Dominican Sisters who takes care of his personal needs.
Cardinal Sanchez, born on 17 March 1920 in Pandan, Catanduanes, at 91 years
of age will celebrate on 12 May 2011:
1. His 65 Diamond Sacerdotal (1946) Jubilee as a Priest and,
2. His 43rd Episcopal Ordination (1968) Anniversary,
3. His 20th (June 28, 1991) Anniversary as a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.
I invite you to celebrate these three events of his life in a
Eucharistic Celebration he himself will preside at St. Peter Church along
Commonwealth Avenue, at 5:00 PM on 12 May 20111, and to a Formal
Dinner at the Palace of the Rock at 7:00 PM.
