As a Past-President of the Central Alberta AA Ringette Club, and as Hollys Coach on the Central Alberta U16AA team for the last couple of years, it is with pride that I have been requested to provide a letter of reference for Ms. Daniel. Holly has worked tirelessly to improve and compete at the highest levels of the sport of Ringette. I have watched her grow and mature both as a player, and as a person, as she has excelled against her peer group on a Provincial, National and International stage. With our AA ringette club, I have had the pleasure of coaching Holly for the last 2 years, but have watched her grow and develop for much longer than that. Over this period she has always been a positive, hard working and motivated player. Respected by parents, players, officials and coaches alike, Holly has earned a reputation as a diligent and tireless worker who is motivated to do whatever is necessary to be the best she can be. More importantly than her success and dedication on the ice however, is the type of person she is off of the ice. Holly is a leader in every respect. She is popular, respectful, accessible and positive. Sport is about more than winning and losing. It is about overcoming adversity, being gracious in defeat and humble in victory. It teaches positive self-image and countless other life lessons that are important to all young athletes. These lessons can be difficult for volunteer coaches, who are also parents, to communicate to young players. Holly, and her approach to the game, has served as a bridge between our coaches and our players in this respect. The importance of this cannot be overstated. It is my hope that you accept this letter of support and provide her every consideration. I know that through her words, actions and enthusiasms, Holly will continue to make us all proud as she continues to develop into a strong, determined, and independent young lady.
