10BT40403: ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES AND TRANSMISSION LINES
Prerequisites:
Engineering Mathematics & Engineering Physics.
Course description:
Electrostatics; Magnetostatics; Time varying fields; EM waves characteristics; Transmission
lines.
Course Objectives:
CEO1. To gain fundamental knowledge in electrostatics, magnetostatics, boundary
conditions in electromagnetics, Maxwells equations, wave propagation in different
media, Poynting theorem, and transmission line analysis.[PEO1]
CEO2. To impart advanced knowledge in design of different electromagnetic
applications, wave propagation in different media, and different Smith chart
applications. [PEO2]
CEO3. To develop analytical skills in Maxwells equations, Poynting theorem, and
time varying fields. [PEO3]
CEO4. To apply knowledge and skills for applications involving electromagnetic
waves, wave propagation in media, and transmission lines. [PEO4]

equations, SC and OC lines.
