1. Abstract
This guideline discusses details for preparing a laboratory report. The
abstract should have a maximum of 300 words. The abstract is like a
concise summary in which one should briefly introduce the topic/s of
the report, state the problem and methods used to solve the problems
and present the primary or significant results of the experiment.
2. Objective
This paragraph contains three statements which briefly identify the
objectives of the study. As an example, for a magnetic force acting on
a wire, one can state that the study seeks (i) to establish the
relationship between the magnetic field strength and the magnetic
force acting on the wire, (ii) how the flowing current affects the
magnitude of the magnetic force and (iii) how the orientation of the
loop affects the resulting magnetic force
3. Result and Discussion
This section discusses the results obtained from the experiment.
Furthermore, the three theses stated in the previous section should be
answered and explained further in detail in this part which are
supported experimentally by the gathered data. It is highly encouraged
to cite particular data values in the obtained table to back up your
observation and explanation.
The paper to be used is letter or A4. There will be a 1-inch or 25.4 mm
margin on all sides. All fonts for text are limited only to Calibri, Cambria
or Times New Roman. Section headings are in 12-point bold with
Roman Arabic numbering. Further subsections are discouraged. The
recommended page length for a laboratory report is 2 pages for fast
and efficient evaluation process. Deduction points will be given to
those who will exceed the page limit. The document is singlespaced
and the paragraph alignment is justified. Figures and tables could be
added as part of the appendices that will appear as supplementary
pages of this document. Sample calculations are to be written as part
of the appendices. Properly place captions on each figure or table,
especially if you are going to cite them in your result and discussion.
The title cover of this document will be the front page of your lab
report data sheet.
4. Conclusion

In this section, the summary of the study is presented. Limit your

conclusion statements only up to a maximum of 600 words. Here, one
can state the highlights of the study and the significance of the study
as observed or applied in everyday life.
