My Planning Skills
I did not score myself with a one in any category. The DID Designer quickly improved many of
my skills on this planning self-assessment. The score I gave myself in many of the categories
was a two, ready to plan. The reason for this is because I am familiar with these categories after
completing the DID Designer, however I could use more practice with them before being more
confident. The first category I gave myself a two in was I can name the learning styles that may
impact my students learning and use the instruments needed to determine them. In order to
master this I would need to practice more with determining which way my students learn best.
The next category I scored a two in was I can identify the personal characteristics that might
impact my students and suggest strategies to minimize their impact. I would need more practice
with how to work with students from different backgrounds to master this topic. I also have a
two for I can identify and use methods that assess entry skills and remediate if they are
lacking. I am familiar with these skills, but am not at a mastery level with remediating these
skills. The next area I gave myself a two in was I can write objectives at all levels of Blooms
Taxonomy. I have worked with Blooms Taxonomy in the past, but would need more practice
applying it in a classroom to be at a mastery level. I also received a two on all the categories
involving teaching and learning strategies mostly because I do not know much of the differences
between the two. I would need more clarity on these topics to be at a mastery level. The final
category I gave myself a two in was I can identify the revisions necessary in my plans if the
summative feedback shows my students have not achieved their objectives. I do know that
actions need to be taken if students do not do well on assessments, however I am not fully aware
of how much change and revisions need to be made. I think this area can be mastered through
practice. On the remaining areas I graded myself with a three because I am very familiar, and
confident with these topics.
