Alternatives to Microsoft Office

I have found myself using many programs similar to Microsoft Office through Google for school
work. I have used Google Docs as a replacement for Microsoft Word and Google Slides as a
replacement for Microsoft PowerPoint. These programs are very similar to one another, and have
few differences. The main reason I found myself using these soft-wares for school work is
because they can be accessed easily through any computer with an internet connection, and they
can be shared and edited by other people at the same time. The pros of using Google Docs and
Slides are that they are more accessible without your personal computer, they can be shared and
coedited by many people at once, and they are free. The cons of using Google Docs and Google
Slides opposed to Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are that there are not as many options or
features. For example, with Microsoft there are many more editing features, while Google only
has the basic, more commonly used features. Another downfall of using google is that it is harder
to keep your documents organized, or separated into certain categories. I would highly
recommend using Google Docs and Slides for group projects.
