Verónica Sunday.

Never surrender; never give up; there is always a light that appears on the journey.
Our sister Verónica felt until her very last moment the accompaniment of all the
brothers and sisters of our congregation, in the most difficult moments of her life.
At the age of 23, she left us and went into the presence of our loving God. The doctors
had diagnosed cáncer and for more than 4 years she received medical attention
fighting the disease until she could no longer resist. Our congregation remembers her
as a youth with great courage, who sowed the seed of the Gospel, even in the moments of
her pain. Until we see you again, sister, ciao dear friend...

Luz Divina begins the Future Seekers program 2010
In the Future Seekers program we have imple-
mented a plan that allows us to work in an
organized way. Our daily living has taught
us to be grateful to God and to pray for
those who help us. We pray for all the
blessings that we receive.
The Diaconal Ministry of Luz Divina provides
an integral accompaniment to the Future See-
kers progam in the aspects of psychology,
health, education and spiritual care.
Our diaconal service obeys the charge of
our Lord Jesus Christ to be light and salt for
the world, in the context of Márquez, Isolina, Je-
rusalén, El Paraíso, communities in which we work where
the need and poverty severely affect children, women and
the elderly.
In this reality, the Gospel carries hope and
change for a better life in the present and
in the future.
PROFILE OF THE FUTURE SEEKER
The children of the Future Seekers program attend Sunday Scho-
ol in their congregations. There they receive Christian education
classes. The adolescents attend classes of Christian and vocatio-
nal formation on Saturdays.
The Social Worker visits the family of each
applicant to the Program, which allows
for the verification that the applicant in-
deed is from a family with few resources.
The opinión of the Social Worker is impor-
tant for the qualification to the program.
In the summer the applicant attends the cour-
se on Bible training for 30 hours directed by
the pastoral team of Jorge Linares, David To-
ribio, Juan Leyva , Pastor Benjamín Navarro
and our sisters Nancy Trigos Quispe, Jessica
Solís and Elizabeth Abarca.
The qualification to the program is also depen-
dent on the attention and interests that the pa-
rent demonstrates before, during and after the
application of their child to the program.

100 children are the direct beneficiaries in the
Future Seekers program.
For this year 2010, the Future Seekers pro-
gram is going to accompany 100 children
and adolescents of school age, from state
schools and poor socioeconomic conditions.
Applicants are ready for the entrance They give the entrance examination at
examination. the education center, Our Lady of Mercy.
After the exam, they wait for the results.

Each year, the Future Seekers program succe-
eds in accompanying children in both schoo-
ling and nutritional needs. The newly re-
gistered students are given school sup-
plies, uniforms, shoes, and enrollment in
the programs of Sunday School and pasto-
ral care for the adolescents and youth.

Part of the Pastoral work is to develop the trai-
ning course directed toward the parents of the
families who are the indirect beneficiaries of the
Future Seekers program.
The course lasts 2 months with the participation
of 65 parents, of which women make up the ma-
jority with 80% of those attending. The classes
occur on Fridays from 7:00—9.00
PM; The pastoral team responsible Closing Ceremony

and Pastor Benjamín Navarro. to the Bible Basic
Level course
Participants are divided into 3 class-
rooms to develop the course. All
the students receive study materials
and are evaluated to receive a certifí-
cate of participation. This helps im-
prove the levels of impact and basic
knowledge of the books of the Bible.

The Congregation Luz Divina of Márquez dedicated on Saturday, December 12, 2009, a new Com-
munity of Faith named Luz del Paraiso (Light of Paradise) that is located on the right margin of the
Chillón Bridge highway to Ventanilla. It belongs to the District of San Martín de los Porres and it ta-
kes about 40 minutes to arrive there from the Jorge Chávez Airport.
All the brothers and sisters from the congregation Luz Divina de

The question is: What is the significance of Palm Sun-

day?
On that day the Lutheran Church celebrates a liturgy of
triumph in the midst of the signs of death. The bran-
ches are a symbol of welcome, hope and solidarity.
The blessing of the palms or branches is the first rite
that happens in Holy Week. We can judge its importan-
ce for the solemnity with which the church unfolds its
celebration. (...)

After singing “Hosanna,” these olive branches are recei-

ved with a single prayer, accompanied by incense and
the aspersion of blessed water, a virtue that elevates
them to the supernatural order and prepares them for
the purpose of helping the sanctification of our souls
and the protection of our bodies and our homes. The
faithful should carry these branches respectfully in their
hands during the procession and give them a place of
honor in their homes, as a sign of their faith and hope
in the divine help.

These manifestations of faith help us to understand

why the church wants, in the procession of the bran-
ches, that Jesus Christ is to be honored and present in
his triumph. Let us search then by means of love “this
humble and sweet Savior who comes to visit the
daughter of Zion,” as the prophet states. Here he is in
the midst of us; to Him be given the tribute of our bran-
ches; let us unite our hearts in Him. He is presented to
be our King; let us receive him and say: Hosanna to
the son of David, our Lord and God..

The brothers and sisters of the congregation
Luz Divina of Márquez were present in the be-
ach sector where the flooding of the Chillón
River occurred. They held an activity of Solida-
rity at Christmas time.
Clothing distribution, sharing of many games,
praising God, reading from the Gospel of Luke
about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The
encouragement of said activities were organi-
zed by the adolescents who participated in the
activities of the congregation and at the end
of the encounter we shared a chocolate and a
piece of sweet bread.
“...Let the children come to
me… because the Kingdom
of God belongs to such as
these.” Mt. 19:14 While it is
true that Jesus teaches us
that to enter the Kingdom

of God we must become like children, then
this becomes a requirement for everyone.
What I refer to is that we must have a transfor-
mation of sincere and transparent heart to be
able to enter the Kingdom of God. If Jesus ta-
kes them in his arms, he shows us as a model
the figure of a child because children are pure
in heart and do things with obedience and
with much respect.
The message rescues respect, which is a value,
and the other is the option for the children.
Then the key of being able to live in the expe-
rience of the Kingdom of God is to become
like healthy children, pure in
heart because it is Christ who
moves our hearts and guides
us with the force of the Holy
Spirit showing us the joy of
the Lord in our lives.

"The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival knew that Jesus was on the road to Je-
rusalem. They took palm branches and went to receive him, shouting, „Hosanna! Blessed is he who
comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!‟ Jesus found a donkey and sat on it,
as it is written: „Don‟t fear, daughter of Zion: Look, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey.‟”

At the beginning, his disciples didn‟t understand what was happening. Only after Jesus was glorified
did they take into account these things that had been written about him. Now the people who were
with Jesus when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised
him from the dead continued to spread the Word. Many peo-
ple, due to what they had heard that he had performed this
miraculous sign, went to meet him. Then the Pharisees said to
one another, “Look, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the
world has gone after him!”

Jesus answered them: “The hour has come for the Son of
Man to be glorified. I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat
falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single seed. But
if it dies it produces much fruit. The man who loves his life will
lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for
eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, my servant also will be. Two im-
portant things for the Church: the idea of dying is the sacrifice by those of us who commit our hearts
to really give of ourselves to God‟s work and the second is the product of the harvest that we are
about to collect by our sacrifice is that which we call the fruits. Remember that every tree that bears
