Mohamed El- Ayoubis teaching philosophy

Welcome to my professional portfolio. I believe that my role of a

teacher is very important, as reflected in Islam. It is my duty to
treat the students as a trust from Allah, which means I must do
my best to bring out the best in the students and to care for
their learning and wellbeing. I also try my best to be a good role
model for my students, in my behaviour.
Due to the nature of the subject I teach (Quran memorisation),
this limits the amount of evidence I am unable to provide for
records of assessments, variation in teaching strategies &
variation in providing engaging activities in teaching Quran.
According the scope and sequence for this subject, students are
required to memorise two specific chapters from the Quran. If
my students have fulfilled this requirement of the scope and
sequence, I extend them by providing more chapters for them
to memorise.
I have the ability to teach a variety of levels as I have taught
the most advanced students to the weakest students. I am also
able to deal with the variation in students levels as nearly
every student in my advanced class is memorising different
parts of the Quran.
I test my students orally as this is the only way to know if they
have achieved the class goals of memorising the Quran. I
reward students who have achieved the class goals by
providing them with certificates of achievements. My portfolio
reflects evidence of homework I give students on a weekly
basis.
I invite you on a journey through my portfolio. It contains
evidence which clearly demonstrates that I am a highly
motivated teacher, striving to provide an enjoyable and safe
learning environment for my students, within the limitations
mentioned above.
