High School-HOME/SCHOOL COMPACT

Germantown School has jointly developed with parents an school/parent compact that outlines how parents/school/staff/students will share responsibility for improving
student academic achievement.
School Responsibility
I, the principal, will support this compact and shall strive to do the following:

Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive, safe, and effective learning environment that allows for positive communication between the
teacher, parent, and student.
Encourage and promote importance of positive communication between teachers and parents.
Hold parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and school/parent compact.
Disseminate frequent student progress reports to parents.
Give parents reasonable access to staff in order to volunteer, participate, and observe in their childs class.
Discuss school/parent compact in relationship to the individual childs achievement.
Have high expectations for students, staff, and myself.

Students Responsibility
It is important that I strive to do my best; therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

Attend Germantown High daily and go to class promptly.


Arrive with supplies and be prepared to learn.
Complete all homework and class assignments.
Develop and maintain good study habits.
Adhere to Germantown High and Shelby County Schools code of conduct and uniform policy.
Take ownership and responsibilities for learning and my action.

I, the teacher will strive to educate all students. Therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

Create and maintain a supportive and effective academic environment.


Relate high expectations to parents and students.
Communicate with parents regularly and provide frequent student progress reports.
Provide varied instruction as well as, remediation and enrichment.
Pursue professional development opportunities to promote teacher growth and student achievement.

I, the parent will be responsible for supporting my childs learning and achievement. As a parent and partner in my childs education; therefore, I shall strive to do the following:

Ensure my childs attendance and promptness to school with adequate supplies.


Support Shelby County School Code of Conduct and uniform policy.
Attend parent-teacher conferences, school meetings, and school programs.
Communicate with teachers and monitor my childs homework and study time.
Develop a partnership with the school to help my child achieve the states high standards

Provide a quiet environment for studying and reading at home, and limit distractions (cell phones, televisions, etc.)
