Overview:
Shadow Cell 13 is an isometric strategy RPG
The Protagonists are members of a Shadow Cell, an elite group that works for
the Inquisition. Working above and beyond the law, the Shadow Cell is sent
to investigate any sign of alien infestation, chaos taint or heresy and purge it
with impunity. Ordered to meet with an informant that has crucial intel
regarding the local major crime rings on the planet of Piety, upon arrival the
cell finds their informants safe house breached, the informant himself
missing and the safe house full of hostile thugs. The location of the Informant
unknown, the cell will have to defeat the thugs and hope they can gleam
some information of the thugs leader as to his location, and maybe find out
why these scum attacked this safe house in the first place.

Core Mechanics:

Action based turn system


o Each character can only activate two half actions or 1 full action a turn
Death
o Each character has a different amount of wounds, when these are
reduced below zero the character starts experiencing critical effects
that will eventually lead to a very gruesome death
Percentage based combat
o Ever attempt to hit, dodge, parry is determined by a percentage based
upon the characters stats, range, RoF, accuracy, etc.
Victory Conditions
o Based upon the mission; Mission 1 Defeat the Thugs and their leader,
Mission 2 Find the Informant.
User Interface
o The game will make use of virtual buttons and the mouse
Camera Model
o Isometric Camera that tracks each character as you select them

Gameplay:
The Single Player Demo will comprise two simple missions that will have varying
objectives, pitching the player against different enemies and obstacles.

Demo will consist of approximately 30 minutes of gameplay.

o Assaults with either Shotguns or Assault Rifles
o Warriors with various Melee Weapons
o Others as the development continues
All 3d assets are from the Unity Asset Store, all 2d Assets are either Custom
made, or from Fantasy Flights 40k RPG Rule Books.

Story:
Story Overview:

Protagonists have been ordered to find the informant, the informant is


unknowably kidnapped by a large Crime group called the Amaranthine
Syndicate, a group that fronts as a large trade company in the sector. The
Amaranthine Syndicate is controlled by an Alien race known to some as the
Slaugth, a diabolic race of strange humanoid conglomerates of worms that
seek human brains as a form of narcotic. The Protagonists will uncover this
vile threat to the planet of Piety and have to track down and eliminate the
Slaugth leader Master Nonesuch, his agents and their human pawns or watch
as the planet is consumed from within by the alien taint that dwells deep
within every level of government on the planet.

Character Overview:

Faye Trenne: Faye is the scum, a silver tongued ganger, who knows her way
around the crime infested streets and knows when to go unnoticed and
unseen, shes also had her fair share of fights in the past as a life of crime
isnt always smooth and clean. Faye is the stealth/social character in the cell;
she has the capability to sneak around and ambush enemies from the
shadows with her dual machine pistols and combat knife, in a pinch she can
strike out at a foe and retreat back to cover using her Assassins strike ability,
though she is the fastest in the cell she is a delicate flower amongst the scum
of the city.
Jorn Stubbs Vorgen: Jorn is the Guardsmen, a tough veteran of the military
campaigns of the north, hes heavily armored and a big ball of muscle able to
life most people with a single arm, utilizing all his military skills he helps the
cell deal with problems. Jorn is the frontline combatant of the cell; capable
of dealing with ranged or melee combat with his Heavy Autogun and Chain
Sword, when dealing with hard targets he can use his Grenade launcher and
he can assist downed teammates by picking them up and carrying them to
safety, though his heavy armor carapace armor does limit his mobility, but he
hardly seems to mind this.

Lucius Vendigroth: Lucius is the Tech-priest, an engineer with an inclination


towards replacing the weak flesh with machine, he is a veritable genius when
it comes to technology and an avid surgeon when needed. Not used to
combat Lucius tends to let those bigger of braver than him go first into
dangerous situations, though his happy to fix them up after all is through.
Lucius is the support character of the cell; he is capable of healing his
teammates via his Medicae Augments, and can even create barriers using his
technical know-how and some nearby parts. Armed with Plasma Pistol he is
quite capable at dealing with shot range targets, though in melee his simple
metal Staff will do little to any determined combatant. Not slow, but not fast,
Lucius is armored simply with his metal flesh and a brand new Flak vest
Elisabet Zephyr: Elisabet is the Psyker, one of few that has developed psychic
power within the human empire, Elisabet was forced into her current
occupation as those who wield such power could easily lose control and damn
millions. She uses her new found abilities to harry her foes from a far and
scout ahead of her cell. Elisabet is the caster character of the cell; she can
cast powerful powers from afar at the risk of causing a localized psychic
phenomenon, when scouting or extra range is need she can leave her body
and allow her mind to wonder free, though her body is left unprotected.
Armed only with a backup pistol and Force Sword, she can handle melee
combat if needed but at range her powers are more suitable then her gun.
Armored in light yet sturdy mesh armor, she moves at a medium pace.
