About Workshop Profile:The Traction Machine Workshop, Nashik Road Central Railway
Established Since 1981. It was repair and test the all ac as well
as dc traction motor. When we require traction motor it supplies
us.

About Traction Machine Workshop Visit:The department of Electrical Engineering, Sapkal College of
Engineering organized an industrial visit to Traction Machine
Workshop, Nashik Road on 13th of August 2016 for T.E
Electrical Engineering students.

Visit was organized with the prior permission and guidance of

honorable principal of L.G.N.S.C.O.E, Prof. Dr. V. J. Gond by the
initiative and hard efforts of H.O.D Prof. R. N. Baji, Prof. N. V.
Khalkar along with TE Electrical staff members guide the
students during visit. Students of T.E Electrical especially, made
this visit a grand success.

In the Traction workshop , students carefully studied and

observed the workshop, Motors, various service station and
various electric apparatus.

(AC Traction Motor)

There present Asst. Engineer delivered very good and informative

information about the workshop working. It was a very good
interactive session. Students cleared their various doubts. Sir
gave the satisfactory Answers to students.

(DC Traction Motor)

There present workers show that his working process, they was
in actual maintaining the accuracy. In the Workshop every
station has strictly follow inspection of traction motor. After its
completing inspection if any error found it, then they do some
changes and fixed it accurately.

We learn about the process, how to varnish the armature of

motor. There are the vertical huge pressure and high temperature
varnish coating chamber.

All the traction motor is checked completely during assembly

process. Finally takes No Load test and also taking readings of
motor.

Our guide was very helpful during visit and gives the knowledge
about workshop. Visit was very useful to understand to student
as per academic curriculum activities.
