**ArcGIS ArcGIS 10.1 as a hosted application with Citrix XenApp 6 and XenApp 6.5 on Windows 2008
R2. Please note that ArcGlobe, ArcScene, and any other 3D application generally will not perform well
over Remote Desktop or other Windows Terminal Services clients, because these configurations do not
support OpenGL 3D graphics acceleration from the server. The Best practices for running ArcGIS for
Desktop in a Citrix XenApp environment contains additional information regarding deploying ArcGIS
for Desktop with Citrix XenApp.

***Support begins at ArcGIS 10.1 SP1.

2. Hardware Requirements

3. Software requirements
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 must be installed prior to installing ArcGIS for Desktop.

Internet Explorer requirement:

ArcGIS for Desktop requires a minimum installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7.0 or 8.0. If
you do not have an installation of Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 7.0/8.0, you must obtain and install
it prior to installing ArcGIS for Desktop. Internet Explorer Versions 9 and 10 are also supported.
Python requirement for Geoprocessing:
ArcGIS for Desktop geoprocessing tools require that Python 2.7.x and Numerical Python 1.6.x are
installed. If the ArcGIS for Desktop setup does not find either Python 2.7.x or Numerical Python
(NumPy) 1.6.x installed on the target computer, Python 2.7.2 and Numerical Python 1.6.1 will be
installed during a complete installation. You can choose a Custom installation to unselect the Python
feature and avoid installing it. Additionally, if the Python setup is executed during theArcGIS for
Desktop installation, you will be provided with the opportunity to choose its installation location. The
Python installation location should not include spaces.

Global mapper
1. System Requirements
Global Mapper software is compatible with Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000,
Windows ME, Windows XP (32 and 64-bit versions), Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit versions),
Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit versions), and Windows Server 2003. You may also be able to run
Global Mapper on a Macintosh computer using an emulator like VirtualPC, Parallels, or Boot
Camp, or on a Linux OS under WINE. The minimum system requirements are 64 MB of RAM
and 40 MB of hard drive space for the installation. Space requirements for the data are typically
higher depending upon the size of the dataset.

Smallworlds

1. System Requirements
SmallWorlds will run on all operating systems that support the latest version of the Adobe Flash
player. Currently this is Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Mac OS X v10.6+ and variations of Linux. We
support most web browsers available on these platforms.
SmallWorlds has a lot of rich, moving graphics, so we recommend that you run it on a fairly
recent computer with a minimum of 1GB of RAM. As SmallWorlds is easy to access and free to
use, the best way to determine if your computer meets the requirements is to try it out!
SmallWorlds is not intended for use on mobile devices such as phones or tablets. Use of nondesktop browsers will be at your own risk.
