What is AIESEC?

AIESEC is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their
leadership potential. We are a non-political, independent, not-for-profit
organisation run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher
education. Its members are interested in world issues, leadership and
management. AIESEC does not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity,
gender, sexual orientation, religion or national / social origin.
AIESEC does not have a pre-defined or officially accepted political
tendency or subscription.
AIESEC is not a subsidiary or dependent entity of any other bodies in its
work, sustainability or decisions.

We are in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social
Council (ECOSOC), affiliated with the UN DPI, member of ICMYO, and is
recognised by UNESCO.
Since we were founded, we have engaged and developed over 1,000,000
young people who have been through an AIESEC experience. The impact
of our organisation can be seen through our alumni who represent
business, NGO and world leaders, including one Nobel Peace Prize
laureate, Martti Atisaari of Finland.
We are a global network of young leaders under the age of 30 who strive to
better themselves and the communities around them. We are passionate about
world issues, leadership development, cultural understanding and experiential
learning.
The organisation spans 126 countries and territories and every aspect of
AIESECs operations are managed by students and recent graduates.
We have operated in this way since our inception, making us uniquely by
students, for students, for over 65 years. The global leadership teams are
elected by the membership annually.

What is AIESEC in UGM?

AIESEC UGM was established on 2011 as one of the Official Expansions from
AIESEC Diponegoro. In two years, AIESEC UGM managed to display a large and
sustainable growth. In January 2013, AIESEC UGM managed to be listed as the
first Local Committee in Yogyakarta. AIESEC UGM will continue to grow and
develop the potential of youths in Yogyakarta by developing an organization
culture that will be the platform of synergy between talents and opportunities.

What Development can you get by being the member of AIESEC in

UGM?
Being a member of AIESEC UGM, you can enhance your leadership and
development skills with our vast number of opportunities. You will be
doing operation for our activities engaging with youth of Yogyakarta and
beyond!

What is the criteria for applying as a member?

There is no specific criteria for you to apply as a member. Moreover, we
never require you to have specific English Proficiency certificate
(TOEFL/IELTS). However, only active UGM students from batch year
2013 2016 are eligible to apply as our member

Do we have to do exchange by joining as a member?

The program you are applying is for Team Experience Program. You are
not obligated to go volunteering abroad (Global Citizen). If you are
interested to do so, please follow our latest Global Citizen info on OA

What are the departments that we can join?
We divide our operations by 4 main sub-products:
MARKETING/PR (M)
If you are:
Having an interest in developing your
marketing skills
Have Image-Editing, Video-Editing and PR
capabilities.
Willing to give innovations on Product and
B2C Marketing.
Then you are suited to take this opportunity. You
will market our programs to the general audience of
Yogyakarta (particularly university students) about
our Volunteering Abroad Program

PARTNERSHIP (P)
If you are:
Having an interest in building partnership with
enterprises, local government and businesses
Want to develop in the field of sales and
account management.
Then you are suited to take this opportunity. You
will do a series of partnership engagement with
external stakeholders supporting our projects and
also operations

INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS (I)

If you are:
Having an interest in doing operations in
exchange-related fields.
Want to develop in the field of international
engagement and follow-ups.
Then you are suited to take this opportunity. AIESEC
is run by students. When youth of Yogyakarta want
to go abroad to do their volunteering or internship
program, International Operations help students of
Yogyakarta to do their Global Citizen (Volunteering
Abroad) and Global Talent (Internship) experience
smoothly.
In addition, you can also facilitate the incoming
exchange opportunities for international exchange
participants doing their volunteering project and
professional internship in Yogyakarta

TALENT DEVELOPMENT (T)

If you are:
Having an interest in Human Resources
Development field.
Have willingness to develop youth and
recognize talent
Interested in recruitment and development.
Then you are suited to take this opportunity. AIESEC
is an organization focusing on youth development
and fulfillment of humankind potential.

What are the departments that we can join?

You can do the following to officially apply as our member:

Submit the printed Physical Form, CV with photo (any format is

acceptable) to our submission booth at Fakultas Ilmu Sosial and Ilmu
Politik UGM on September 1st/2nd. If you are applying for
Marketing/PR as your first preference of opportunity please submit
the following prerequisite also:
a.

Please submit a A4 Poster (HVS is allowed) with the following

requirements: Using the information you got in this application
package about AIESEC, please make a poster explaining about

AIESEC in the most creative ways possible. There is no specific

requirement about what is included. You can make the poster
with any application/program.
