PLM STUDENTS HONORED AS 3 OF TEN OUTSTANDING

ECONOMICS STUDENTS for 2016


Three PLM students are among the Ten Outstanding Economics Students (TOES) for
Academic Year 2015-2016. The TOES Awards is the annual excellence search organized by
the Junior Philippine Economics Society from among its different member-chapters across
the country. This years TOES Awards were given during the JPES National Council
culminating ceremonies held at the University Hotel in UP Diliman on last June 5, 2016. In
attendance were the chapter officers and representatives of the different member-schools of
the JPES.
Top honors were feted to Alexandro Polancos, Cherise Rosales and Janela Pangindian, all
incoming seniors of the BSBA Major in Business Economics Program of the Pamantasan ng
Lungsod ng Maynila. Polancos is currently the President of the PLM Economics Society while
Rosales is the President of the College of Business and Management Student Council.
Polancos, Rosales and Pangindian join nominee-finalists from the University of the
Philippines, San Beda College, University of Asia and the Pacific, University of San Carlos.
Emerging as top Awardee for this years TOES search is Pauline Zamora from the UAP.
The TOES Awards is one of the culminating activities of the Junior Philippine Economics
Society under its outgoing National Council President, Victor Mesina, also representing PLM.
The event also rolled out the Turnover Ceremony and Investiture of the newly-elected JPES
National Council under the leadership of Christian Magracia of the Business Economics
under University of Santo Tomas.
The Junior Philippine Economics Society is the umbrella organization of Economics Societies
and Organization of some 30 private and public economics program for higher education all
over the Philippines.
