The above pie chart shows that the degree of annoyance with the range varies from 1 for the
lowest to 10 for the highest. The highest percentage of 18% of the respondents went for the
highest degree which is 10. Whereas 16% went for 9, 15% for 8, 13% for 7 and 11% for 6.
There is no too much difference between the percentages of the respondents choosing the
degree of annoyance level from 10 to 6. Meanwhile, only few percentages of respondents had
chosen the degree at 5,4,3,2 and one which is 9%, 7%, 5%, 4% and 2% respectively.

The chart interprets that most of the respondents feels that the degree of annoyance level at
the area is in the range of 5 to 10 which reflect the area is affected by the annoyance from the
aircraft engine noise. It may due to the latitude of the aircrafts during the departure and
arrival. At that particular time the aircrafts are so near to the ground level of the study area

which emits strong noise where we cant here other sound such as human voice. These may
lead to miss communication and disturb any work at that time. The respondents who chosen
the degree of annoyance from 4-1 probably may because of they can adopt the noise and
familiar with that kind of noises.

The pie chart above illustrates the problem faced by the respondents which are the
residents around the study area. The major problem faced is sleeping difficulties which
contribute 48% from the total respondents. The second highest problems are the headache
and stress with 20% and 18% respectively. The minor problems are the learning academic
performance and work related performance with 5% each as well as the hypertension and
poorer health contributing 2% each.

Sleep difficulties dominates as a major problem probably due to the flight time in the
study area. From the researcher observation the area is busy with flight traffic during 7.00pm
to 12.00pm and again at the early morning 5.00am to 10.00am. The traffic causes noise
annoyance during that peak hours which that is time for the residents in that area to sleep.
Whereas, the headache and stress may due to sensitivity or allergies on the heavy sounds.
Meanwhile the noises does not causes so much on work and academic related performance,
hypertension and poorer health.
