Summary of Findings(2022)

Findings:

1. According to the participants' demographic profile, the domineering age is 18 with a percentage of 65,
and the least common age is 21 with a percentage of 1. Then there's sex or gender, which shows that
out of 100 participants, the most sex or gender is female, with a total frequency of 61, followed by
males, with a total frequency of 39. The demographic profile is then determined using their overall
weighted average. GWA, which ranges from 90–94, had the most respondents, with a total frequency of
59 and a percentage of 59, as indicated in the table, while respondents with a GWA of 89 and below
have the lowest Rank, with a total frequency of 14 and a percentage of 14. Furthermore, all
respondents' overall weighted average is 92.36. Finally, the demographic profile of the participants in
terms of sleep hours. According to the table, 60 of the respondents had only 6-8 hours of sleep, while
the least amount of sleep was 9–10 hours with a frequency and percentage of 10.

2. The reasons students experience lack of sleep in terms of schoolwork and household chores have a
high total weighted mean of 3.95, wherein STEM students’ answers to item number 3 show a weighted
mean of 4.8. Next is reasons students experience lack of sleep in terms of stress and headaches, it shows
a high total weighted mean of 4.16, where participants indicate that headaches make it difficult for
them to fall asleep, thus keeping them awake at night. That could be seen in item number 4. Finally, Our
Lady of Fatima University grade 12 STEM students responded to item number 5, which has a weighted
mean of 4.19 under the tabular presentation of why students experience insufficient sleep in terms of
distraction, which has a high total weighted mean of 3.68, demonstrating that students tend to use their
phones or gadgets to entertain themselves when they are about to sleep.

3. The tabular presentation of the effects of insufficient sleep to students in terms of their cognitive
function has a high total weighted mean of 3.72, with grade 12 STEM students who have poor sleep
quality not being able to concentrate on the current class having a weighted mean of 3.9. The following
effect of lack of sleep on students is in terms of performance has an average total weighted mean of
3.05, item number 9, where students lack the ability to attend classes on time, has the highest weighted
mean of 3.08, as seen in the table. Lastly, on the impacts of inadequate sleep on students in terms of
dullness, resulted in an average total weighted mean of 3.42, in which item number 14 under it has a
weighted mean of 3.48, which means experiencing a hard time remembering or processing information
due to lack of sleep.

4. The average total weighted mean of the student's properly to prevent sleep deprivation in terms of
hindrance is 3.38, with item number 20 having the highest weighted mean of 3.44, indicating that the
participants prefer to study in a separate area so that the brain associates sleep rather than distractions
the same as stress and active thinking. Then, ways of the participants in terms of sleep cycle shows that
it has a high total weighted mean of 3.63 with regards to item number 15, which concerns the
participants' domineering response to having a regular sleeping routine/hours.
