COURT OF APPEALS
Manila

PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES,

Plaintiff-Appellee,
CA-GR CR NO. 37347

-versus-

CHRISTOPHER K. LOPEZ,
Accused-Appellant.
x--------------------------------------------------------------x

MOTION FOR EXTENSION

OF TIME TO FILE APPELLEES BRIEF
The PEOPLE OF THE PHILIPPINES, through the Office of
the Solicitor General (OSG), most respectfully avers:
1. On January 18, 2016, the OSG was served with a copy
of the Brief for Accused-Appellant Christopher K. Lopez dated
January 06, 2016. From receipt thereof, the OSG has thirty (30)
days or until February 17, 2016 within which to file an
Appellees Brief.
2. However, the OSG foresees its inability to file the
required Appellees Brief due to heavy pressure of work of the
handling lawyer in preparing equally important pleadings.
3. Thus, the undersigned respectfully pray that they be
granted an additional period of ninety (90) days from February
17, 2016 or until May 17, 2016 within which to file an Appellees
Brief.
4. This motion is not intended to delay the proceeding but
solely for the reason above mentioned.

PRAYER
WHEREFORE, it is respectfully prayed of this Honorable
Court that the OSG be given until May 17, 2016 within which to
file the required Appellees Brief.
