Math/ Science
In Math, your child is learning to:
count 0-100 by 1s and 10s
count forward beginning from a
given number within the known
sequence
write numbers from 0 to 20.
represent a number of objects
with a written numeral 0-20.
match each object with a number
when counting.
ount objects up to 20 in a variety
of arrangements

Reminders:

Parents please help your child daily with


their homework.
After you read with your child, sign the
reading log so your child can get credit
for their reading. Students will receive
awards for reading 20 books monthly.
All Kindergartners need a change of
clothes at school.
Please make sure we have updated
phone numbers so we can keep an open
line of communication.
We have a Kindergarten Weebly our link
is http://whakindergarten.weebly.com.
This is used to keep you informed of
what your child is learning and current
events.

Science will start on October 4, 2016.

Literacy/ Social Studies


In Literacy, your child is learning to
write their names
identify the parts of a book such
as front, back, and title
identify where to begin reading
recognizing uppercase and
lowercase letters/sounds
(Aa,Bb,Cc,Dd,Ee,Ff,Gg,Hh)
recognizing sight words such as
a, I ,come, here, said
In Social Studies, students are learning
why they should follow rules at home,
school and in the community.
