0 SCAFFOLDING
Scaffoldings are provided when people are worked at upper place from the ground level.
G.I. pipes & scaffolding frames are used for constructing scaffolds. G.I. pipes can be obtained
form different length & heights also. Scaffolding frames were used for formwork, brick work,
internal plastering work & column concreting work. Scaffolding sets which is constructed with
G.I. pipes were used for external plastering work & fascia & balcony formwork. Above type of
scaffolding sets were also provided for hanged the safety nets around the building.
These scaffolding sets should be strong enough to carry loads of men, materials & other
tools. In scaffolding work anchor nut & bolts are very important to hold the scaffolding
vertically. Anchor nut is hammered to the concrete column & cannot be remove again anchor
bolt can be fixed to anchor nut. After finishing the job anchor bolt can be removed, but anchor
nut is in the concrete column, until demolition of the column.

7.1 Method of Assembling External Scaffolding

Lay wooden plunks in horizontal position and install jack bases.

Insert arm locks to ensure stability and safety.

Find the cross braces to the frames.

Find the lock in to walking frame it is recommended that walking frame be installed in
alternate 3-5 stories.

Insert-joint pins in to each ends of the frame and repeat the above process for greater
height.
