My Cardinal Sin My Chocolate

To what extent would you go to have a bite of chocolate? Beg? Borrow? Steal?
Lie? It seems that women, especially Indian women, are capable of all this and
more, reveals a study conducted by the Axe Research Lab on 3,571 women
across 13 countries across the world.
The Axe Research Lab study shows that women of any country and any
origin would hide chocolates to avoid sharing it with others. Indian women are
only second to Brazilians in hiding their chocolates. While a shocking 84.9 per
cent of the 225 respondents from Brazil thought it fine not to share their pieces
of sin with others by hiding it from them, 75.9 per cent of the 220 Indians
surveyed, thought along the same lines.

In fact, Indian women seem more desperate to get a piece of chocolate or to save
their chocolates from others. A high 22.7 per cent of Indian respondents said
they would not think twice before stealing chocolate from a friend. This is the
highest percentage across all the countries surveyed. Only Brazilians and
Mexicans come somewhat close to Indians in being so blatant about stealing
chocolate.

Indians also scored high on stooping to fake their birthday to get chocolate.
They were most enthusiastic, too, about licking their pieces of chocolate to avoid
having to share it with others. A 31.4 per cent of Indians agreed to fake
birthdays, and an even higher 46.8 per cent said theyd be happy to lick their bits
of chocolate to prevent others from taking a bite. Only Australian women came
somewhat close with 39.7 per cent voting for the same option.

Indians are also the greediest when it came to skipping a meal to make more
room for chocolate. A staggering 42.7 per cent of Indian women were ready to
skip meals to accommodate more chocolate. Italians, with 40.5 per cent, also
seemed to favour this method of making space for more theobroma food for
Gods, as chocolates scientific name suggests.

However, women could also stoop to feign illness, even pregnancy, just to get a
bite of their favourite soul food. Though Indian women do not have qualms
about pretending to feel faint so that they get a piece of chocolate to be
rejuvenated, they do fall behind women from other countries when it comes to
faking pregnancy for the same reason. While 34.5 per cent of Indian women
were ready to fake illness, only 13.6 per cent were ready to pretend to be
pregnant, as opposed to 47.5 per cent Argentines agreeing to go that way.
The Axe Research Lab survey shows that Indian women would go to any
extent to get their piece of chocolate and to keep it from others. However, such

tendencies are clearly not looked upon as sinful, as opposed to using chocolate
for sensuality. Speaking about how women would like to use chocolate when
making love still seems taboo.
