Animal Responses

I am Boxer. I love to work and make everything Napoleon tells

me to do. I flatter him even if he is sleeping. I am the strongest
animal on animal farm. One time I killed a man, but I didnt mean
to do it.
I remember one time when Mr. Jones and a bunch of filthy
humans tried to get animal farm back. All the animals (me
included) got very angry and we kicked he and his people out of
the farm. That was the time I accidentally killed a man.
Boxer in society would be the under-informed people. The ones
who dont have or have little education. They may be very kind
and good hearted but they are a somehow foolish and dont
understand the things.

I am Snowball. Napoleon is a mean beast. He wants everything

for himself. I believe Im a trustworthy leader but obviously
Napoleon hates me. He has become a dictator in Animal Farm. I
personally believe I should be the leader again. I wouldnt get as
drunk with power as Napoleon. Somebody help me because he got
me exiled form the farm and I feel very sad.
When he exiled me I was very afraid, sad and angry at the same
time. He was such a coward pig. He had to use his army of angry
dogs who chased me until the end of the world. I really dont
appreciate what he did when he exiled me. Karma will give him my
revenge.
Snowball in society would be the leader everybody loves. He
would be the one who supports the hens & geese of society and
the one evil people hate just for being good with the working class.

I am Benjamin. I am the oldest soul in this God-forgotten farm. I

remember that back in my time things werent as complicated as

they are nowadays. Animal and man would live together in a

special balance and they would be, more than master and slave,
like friends. But now everything is different because the humans
treat us as if we were just machines for their own benefit. They
dont care if we suffer or if we have the right conditions for
working and living. It is a pity.
The battle of the Cowshed was a mess. Id rather not get into
those kind of problems but since at the end of the day Animal
Farm is home, I needed to participate at least a little bit on the
battle. I remember Jones arriving with about 15 men with a gun
each. Pointing those killing devices to our faces. Comrade Boxer
was a fierce fighter. He killed one man because of a kick in his
head. That, for me, is not considered murder but an act of pure
courage. But besides that I prefer not making a fuss about
everything that happens here or with Napoleon like Boxer did.
Benjamin in society nowadays would be the old people. The
ones who are one step away from the Sugarcandy Mountain. He
would be like the kind of persons who dont give a rats ass about
what happens in their community as long as it doesnt affect them
too much. Something like the indifferent people in society.

I am Squealer. Everybody knows me for being the spokesperson

of comrade Napoleon. I am characterized by my eloquence and
my ability to convince people to believe in certain ideas through

the power of words. I am half responsible for what Animal Farm is

today. If it wasnt for me, no animal wouldve believed in what
Napoleon was talking about or the whole concept of Animalism. I
think he should thank me for that.
Animal Farm has become what it is today thank you to the
amazing intelligence of comrade Napoleon. Like the time when the
dirty traitor of Snowball was exiled from the farm. I remember
brave Napoleon sending his dogs after Snowball. They chased him
until the place where the sun touches the mountains. If there are
any questions about it, I mean the horizon. See, I am a very clever
speaker!
Squealer, in present day society, would be the media. Always
trying to get the wrong idea into the peoples head. Even if it is the
worst thing that has happened in years, they give it a touch of
word make up so that it wont sound so bad. The innocent people
cant notice the difference between the real report and the one
that is rearranged in order for it to make someone look like a hero.
Like when Squealer talked about a readjustment, not a reduction.

I am a sheep. Basically, my role in Animal Farm is to repeat

everything Napoleon says is correct. He made four legs good, two
legs bad our new personal motto. Now I understand why Boxer
says that Napoleon is always right. I dont really understand
exactly what is going on with Napoleon and Snowball but if

Napoleon says the other guy is a bad animal then I guess I should
believe him. At the end, he is the leader because of something.
When Jones wanted the farm back it was a terrible mess.
Everybody was running from here to there shouting, kicking and
screaming. Napoleon told us to fight against the horrible humans
so I and my other fellow sheep went to the fight defending the
farms independence from humans. Napoleon told us that it was
like a loyalty thing so we listened to him. Many sheep died that
day.
The sheep in present day society would be the working class.
The ones who take everything the government throws to them.
Because of their low level of education, they dont know what is
good or bad for them. The Squealers of society, the media, tell
them the news with a sprinkle of lies which will make the things
sound better. Unfortunately, this is the type of people hat exist the
most in every country of the world. If there could be a change or a
reduction of this group of people then the modern societies would
be very different.

Q & As
1. What is your reaction to the animal revolution?

A/ theyre very determined animals who know what they want.

They scare me.

2. Do you sympathize with the animals complaints and goals?

A/ Yes because sometimes humans treat them with cruelty. But the
animals got a little bit excited about the whole idea of the
revolution.

3. Describe how the rebellion takes place. How does the animals behavior during
the war of the rebellion suggest both human and animal characteristics?
A/ First the animals kicked Mr. Jones and then they took control of
the farm. Humans were reflected on them when they started doing
reunions, planning projects and assigning leaders. They presented
animal traits when they started biting and kicking humans.

4. How did the pigs gain the right to the cows milk? Why did the other animals
allow this to occur? What does this event suggest about the power hierarchy of the
farm?
A/ They gained the right to the milk when they convinced
everyone that as leaders, they needed to be well nourished in
order to think correctly. The other animals allowed it because the
pigs convinced them. This suggests that all power goes to the
pigs.

5. How does the original vision of Animalism became the slogan for 4 legs good,
two legs bad? In your opinion, do the animals want rules with simple language?
What kind of language do the pigs use?

A/ It became the original vision in the way that with 2 legs they
meant the humans and with 4 legs they meant the animals.
Animals do want simple language but the pigs use complex
language.

Reaction
My reaction to the ending was like this >= (
The entire novel was great except for that ending. I was really mad
and pissed off when I found out the final outcome. I found it
disappointing because after all that hard work that the animals put
in making Animal Farm a better place for living, Napoleon threw it
to the garbage can by becoming just as dumb as the other
humans. If I had the chance to see Napoleon in real life, I would
punch his face really hard. They I would run away because angry
animals scare me a lot.
