below the competency aspects that you will be required to comment /Questioned on. Kindly be prepared and

1) Main Engines
a) L.O. System
i) Layout of lube oil system and safety features
b) F.W. System
i) Layout of jacket cooling fresh water system & dosing.
c) Injectors
i) Testing of injectors for correct atomization.

2) Generators and Electrics including switchboard

i) Outline procedure for starting diesel generator
ii) Outline procedure for synchronizing diesel generator
iii) Safety features incorporated in diesel generator.

3) Purifiers
i) Reason for heating of lube oil / fuel oil prior to entering purifier.

4) Pumps

i) Different types of pumps, centrifugal / rotor dynamic & positive displacement.

5) Boilers

i) Flashing up a boiler from cold, procedures.

ii) Testing of boiler water and condensate.

6) Evaporators

i) Relationship between temp and pressure / vacuum for water to reach boiling point.
ii) How vacuum is achieved in evaporators.

7) Safety Equipment and Awareness

i) Knowledge of various safety equipment onboard such as Em Generator, Em fire pump, Em air compressor etc.

8) Cargo Operations

i) Steam turbine driven cargo pumps and associated equipment and operation.
