Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One

and Two Special Rehearsal Edition. New York City: Arthur A. Levine, 2016. Amazon Kindle.

Scorpius Malfoy and Albus Severus Potter exist as best friends and young wizards in the
universe of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Slytherin students Scorpius Malfoy and Albus
Potter embark on a journey to save Cedric Diggory. After erasing his companion from existence,
Scorpius learns truly what a hero is. Heroes are not Gryffindors, but heroes are determined,
selfless, and friendly. Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley display determination. Hiding out,
underground and isolated, in a world ruled by Voldemort, Hermione and Ron keep fighting in
their dying resistance to save not just the wizarding world but the muggle world as well. Snape
provides the selfless aspect in his sacrifice for Scorpius to escape the Dementors. The final battle
against Delphi demonstrates a hero's need for friends or allies when fighting a greater power.
Rowling's Harry Potter saga portrays heroes and their traits, but none quite as well enforce the
point that a hero can be anyone as well as Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
