    Place tells us what a location


    is like. It is divided into two
    parts, physical and human
    characteristics.

    In class, we made a bar


    graph about the temperature
    in a specific city. I chose
    Jakarta because it is where I
    live. We also went on a walk
    about and took photos of
    human and physical
    characteristics.

    The temperature is lowest


    around July to August. I
    think this is because it is the
    start of the wet season so it
    is usually lower in
    temperature. The hottest
    time of the year is around
    January till June which is
    usually the dry season
    (changes because of global
    warming).

    Place is a theme of geography. Place tells us what a location is like. Place is divided into human
    and physical characteristics.Place can tell us what GJS is like. For example, Global Jaya School is
    an international IB school with a supportive community and good facility.The human
    characteristics of a place are everything made by humans/man-made items.Some of the human
    characteristics of GJS includesthe facility like the buildings and pools. It also includes the IB
    learning system, religion, language, food, music, and many more. The school also has a running
    water system through the sewers to make sure it doesnt flood.The physical characteristics of a
    place are everything that is made by nature.The physical characteristics of the school includes
    many different types of trees and plants like the rambutan tree, mango tree, kelengkeng tree,
    and much more. The school also has a variety of animals like birds, insects, cats (sometimes), and
    many more. The climate in the school is usually hot and tropical but can also be wet during the
    raining season.The theme of geography, Place has human and physical characteristic and it tells
    us what a location is like when you get there. I discovered that place is a very important part of
    geography.
