This thesis examines the influence of family financial education, living situation (living alone vs with parents), and peer interactions on the financial literacy of 166 accounting students at Bina Nusantara University. A survey was conducted using quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that family financial education and peer interactions had a positive significant impact on financial literacy. Students living alone had higher financial literacy than those living with parents. Living situation was found to impact financial literacy.

Accounting and Finance Department Bachelor Degree Thesis in Accounting Even Semester 2014/2015 ANALYSIS THE INFLUENCE OF FAMILY FINANCIAL EDUCATION, RESIDENCE, AND PEER INTERACTION TOWARDS FINANCIAL LITERACY (Case Study on Accounting Student in UBNAS) Florentina Krisanti Sekarwiti 1501154200 ABSTRACT This study conducted in UBNAS with 166 of Accounting students as a sample. This study aims to determine whether is there any influence between family financial education; residence that is included with the whether is there any difference in the level of financial literacy among students living alone/boarding and students live with their parents; and the influence of peer interaction towards the financial literacy of Accounting Students at UBNAS. This study is using the survey method with a mix of multiple linear regression analysis based on quantitative approaches and descriptive analysis from the indicator of questionnaires based on a qualitative approach. The results showed: (1) Family financial education has a positive and significant impact for the financial literacy of Accounting Students at UBNAS. (2) Residence without a doubt have an effect to the financial literacy of Accounting Students at UBNAS. (3) The level of financial literacy student that living alone/ boarding is higher than students who live with their parents. (4) The peer interaction has a positive and significant impact for the financial literacy of Accounting Students at UBNAS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh antara pendidikan keuangan keluarga, tempat tinggal/residence yang disertakan dengan ada atau tidaknya perbedaan tingkat financial literacy antara mahasiswa tinggal sendiri/kost dan mahasiswa tinggal bersama orangtua, dan pengaruh interaksi teman sebaya terhadap financial literacy mahasiswa jurusan Akuntansi di UBNAS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan perpaduan teknik analisis regresi linier berganda berdasarkan pendekatan kuantitatif dan analisis deskriptif dari indikator kuesioner berdasarkan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Pendidikan keuangan keluarga berpengaruh signifikan dan positif terhadap financial literacy mahasiswa Jurusan Akuntansi di UBNAS. (2) Tempat tinggal/residence berpengaruh terhadap financial literacy mahasiswa Jurusan Akuntansi di UBNAS. (3) Tingkat financial literacy mahasiswa yang tinggal sendiri/kost lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa yang tinggal bersama orangtua. (4) Interaksi teman sebaya berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap financial literacy mahasiswa Jurusan Akuntansi di UBNAS.
